According to Rasmussens support for the stimulus bill is down to 37%.

I think the media helped create this situation and now Obama has to deal with it.

I can remember back in the late 70's and early 80's, a 7.2% unemployment rate and low interest and inflation rates would have been considered good news. They created this idea that everything can be fixed very quickly and now people expect results immediately. Not good.

But Obama is just turning into a train wreck.

One thing to remember, the terrorists have not gone away.

Arrogance and stupidity are a volatile combination.

Methinks Crosspatch that those who put him in power are of the clinton clan as they saw the problems we are facing (which time, smart thinking and responsible behavior only will solve) and decided to let BHO "win" this round and as he comes up short the clintonistas will be ready to take back their party in 4 to 8 years. Meanwhile since BHO had no experience (job or military) how could he be expected to pick a competent cabinet or administration----he let the clintonistas do that for him. He just likes the idea of being called president; but he may be smart enough to realize his own incompetencies and shortcomings, if not that's why we are here to help remind him.

And when Michael Moore makes his next film will he be showing BHO fleeing to the safety of a school as the nation's issues become too much for him---much as he criticized President Bush for not running out of a classroom of kids when he got the news about the 9-11 attacks. Nahhhh---double standards exist for a reason.

The people are not behind what he is doing because largely he was voted into office for reasons not related to what he stood for.

White guilt played a huge role in Obama's election, and the media was successful in getting these voters to consider what he stood for as a minor, harmless obstacle. Now they are seeing that ideas matter, that he can do a lot of damage to this country. He may not recover from this miserable start, IMHO.

He is a neo-phyte, as Crosspatch says, and it shows.

My instincts tell me that he will not handle unpopularity well and will not be adept at fielding questions in public that are of a critical nature. He seems to be very sensitive to criticism and seems to be a neophyte when it comes to crisis management.

He makes statements about what the makeup of his administration is going to be (no lobbyists, etc.) and yet we see a parade of just the opposite of the policy he has articulated. That says that other people are in charge of these selections (his chief of staff?) and are pulling in all their buddies and "cool kids" back into the inner circle. He doesn't seem to have strong control over what his people are doing and there appears to be a lot of loose cannons going off in his staff. That is a further indication that Obama was "placed" into the office by someone else who is actually pulling the strings. Obama doesn't appear to be leading, he appears to be doing as he is told or possibly leading by committee.

Personally, all of this makes his chief of staff look like a complete idiot and Obama needs to think long and hard about possibly making some early changes.
