Site Problems

Folks, We are quite aware we are having site issues. Seems we are getting slammed by search bots who are thrashing the server. We attempting to find some fixes. Sadly, we may need to expand this little operation, which is beginning to get a little expensive. Not sure if we will have to suffer through the outages for a while or not. Will let you know how things work out.

    If cost becomes an issue, why not let us know what amount above what you’re willing to spend constitutes “expensive” and let some of us chip in.

    But it seems to be search robots pinging the site and tracing down image links. We think we have it under control, time will tell. We have had much higher traffic without problems before (hit 20,000 hits right before the election). We appreciate the donations and they push us to double our efforts. We get a lot of readers (100,000 a month), so if everyone chipped in a little we would be doing fine.

    Right now the site is manageable.
