I think the GOP moderates who signed onto the spendulus package would have easily supported a real stimulus package if offered a chance.

They tend to try and make things better instead of waiting on the mythical “pure, perfection”.

The right better wise up – purity results in minority status. Deal with the middle, they will decide where to go after the liberals finish screwing up.

The stock market saw this months (a year) ago when they predicted the election of BHO and began pricing that into the value of stocks (the subprime problem while a mess has been totally overblown and could be dealt with had Darwinian economics been allowed to run its course). A stock’s worth today is simply the future cash flows that a company will generate discounted back to the present time. When the cash flows can be expected to be cut by at least a third (due to higher taxes let alone less business revenues) and then discount those cash flows back at an interest rate that reflects future inflation on the order of 15%-20%; you get a market that has lost almost half its value The pure beauty of psychology, sociology, economics and mathematics can not be mistaken.

As to the future of the country, I will not give the cretins of Congress (which now includes the office of the POTUS) the benefit of my worrying that they can undo the greatness we have created in our 233 year history—they are not that powerful, or important and all they do, can and will be undone. It amazes me how they can point fingers at the mismanagement of the banks and car companies when the Congress has caused most of the problems we have now—-when will they all resign????

Now I know some may argue that Congress passed a law that
said only one of your parents had to be American. That law is unconstitutional. Kin Wong ARk was the last ruling bu SCOTUS
reaffirming that both parents had to be US citizens.
The 2nd amendment specifically tried to exclude usurpers who were
enabled by the mere acts of Congress. That is what “Natural” meant -
an appeal to common sense. Everybody knows it takes two, and that both
of those have to be Americans.

Not likely. Shortly after statehood Hawaii gave a blanket amnesty to
everyone in the new State, just turn up and register. That’s how
Obama got some sort of certificate of birth. His real records are
protected by three legal firms.

Well, we know it so you can be pretty sure the KGB or whatever they
call themselves now knows it, so does the CIA, so does MI6, and so does Mossad.

Thanks for staying with us through the election. Yes, in some cases there are legal challenges to stop some of the insanity. There is probably no way the US Census can be moved to the White House without Congressional approval, and my guess that one will go to the USSC if the dems are dumb enough to push it.

In other areas the President has broad powers. The only way to stop the Dems is to vote them out of Congress in 2010. My gut tells me they are doing a damn fine job of that.

Then a GOP Congress can undo the damage. The good news is it takes so long to implement policies a switch in Congress can stop things before they get too bad.
