Does anyone really think the Obama administration will pay any attention to these "tea parties"? We have effectively been sealed off from our representatives. They won't accept our phone calls, e-mails or text messages. They are evidently not interested in hearing our views. They no longer represent us but onjly themselves. The heads of house and senate committees have this quaint idea they will only accept calls from people in their district which is a lie because they won't accept them either. They say they only represent people from their districts. They don't seem to realize when they chair a committee and have great influence on the policies of that committee that they represent all of America and should listen to all of America. Don't worry about us becoming a communist state. We already are.

Sound like they're a bunch of hot heads and crazies. Don't they know that paying taxes is the highest form of patriotism?

Terrye, I think it is becoming more socially acceptable now to express a negative opinion because we now have more policy decisions to base that on. Initially a strong disapproval would have been based on him personally but now he is beginning to develop a track record.

We now have continued losses in the markets, embarrassment of our allies in Poland and the Czech Republic, a "dis" of our closest ally, Great Britain, Russia making us look stupid ... all in a period of only two months. And add to that Hillary's gaffes with the Russian Reset Button and not getting the names of European ministers right and they end up looking like buffoons.

The Democratic Party leadership isn't helping matters either. They are attempting to pin the blame for the current budget on the Bush administration when Bush threatened to veto it and so Congress never handed the budget to Bush to begin with. Now they have painted Obama into a corner by giving him a budget loaded with earmarks only months after he promised he was going to get rid of earmarks.

Obama either has to infuriate the political leadership of the party or infuriate the people. He is basically in a lose-lose situation and being forced to pick between which is the most harmful. All the while it is becoming socially acceptable to start criticizing the administration.

As an indication of how people's attitudes are changing I note this post from Powerline:

After consistently scoring a 59 or 60 percent approval rating in the Rasmussen Survey for at least the last couple of weeks, Obama has begun to drop and has been at 56 percent approval for the last two days, with 43 percent now disapproving. "Strong" approvers now outnumber "strong" disapprovers 39 to 31 percent. So after only six weeks, 70 percent of the electorate already has strong feelings about our new President, pro or con.

There was a "tea party" in Monterey, California yesterday. I see news of it posted on several news sites locally and the link has some video but there is no mention of size of the event.

Yes, the Tea Party Movement is the average Americans that are getting fed up. Normally, the only people that protest are the far lefties that have an agenda while the normal people stay home and say nothing and get crap shoved down their throats. Now they are getting fed up and more vocal. Thank goodness.
