Plame Tired

Published by at 9:09 am under All General Discussions,Plame Game

Well, we start another suspenseful day of rumors and hyperventilation from the media as they try to catch up to the blogoshpere (bloggers and readers alike) regarding what happened. Fortunately for me, I will be in meetings so I will not be able to partake very much during work hours. But a quick round up of articles is in order (at least ones breaking some ground)

IBD has an editorial out today that should be a wake up call for all the lousy reporting going on the MSM print, but especially the MSM TV. [Hat Tip Real Clear Politics]

Politics: In an analysis of Joe Wilson’s credibility, The Washington Post claims his charge that President Bush lied about Iraq seeking uranium in Niger “has been validated.” It hasn’t — and Bush never said that.

It goes on to do a reasonably good smack down on Wilson and his media groupies. Anyway, not to the meat. The Washington Post is quoting sources that the Grand Jury did get the case summary yesterday and we will have to wait until tomorrow for announcements:

The prosecutor in the CIA leak investigation presented a summary of his case to a federal grand jury yesterday and is expected to announce a final decision on charges in the two-year-long probe tomorrow, according to people familiar with the case.

The statements that Rove is trying to convince the prosecutor he did not commit perjury are interesting:

Even as Special Counsel Patrick J. Fitzgerald wrapped up his case, the legal team of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove has been engaged in a furious effort to convince the prosecutor that Rove did not commit perjury during the course of the investigation, according to people close to the aide. The sources, who indicated that the effort intensified in recent weeks, said Rove still did not know last night whether he would be indicted.

Why would they be ‘leaking’ this? They cannot hope for any friendly press to help them make the case to the public. This article lays out the Rove argument in a lot of detail. It could be his legal team is showing their cards so that people see how weak this case is. Personally, if there was no crime in leaking Valerie’s name there should be no crime in not remembering every detail and meeting about a marginal character like Wilson. We were at war in Iraq and these people cannot expect Joe Wilson’s lies to be the center of attention in anyone’s mind at the time.

Then there is this NY Times story about an aide to Rove who has the misfortune to have to deal with two investigations.

Susan B. Ralston, 38, has worked as an assistant and side-by-side adviser to Karl Rove since 2001, helping manage his e-mail, meetings and phone calls from her perch near his office in the West Wing. That has made her an important witness in the C.I.A. leak investigation, as the special prosecutor has sought to determine whether Mr. Rove misled investigators about his contacts with reporters about Valerie Wilson, the undercover operative whose identity was made public in 2003.

Ms. Ralston is also entangled in another political scandal: the case of Jack Abramoff, the Republican lobbyist, who employed her in the same frontline capacity during a stretch of time that is now under criminal investigation.

And people wonder why no one wants to work in Washington anymore? They pay sucks, the housing is expensive, it is a gutter rumor mill and people are constantly in court for silly things like doing their jobs.

We really do not need anymore of this. Liberals needs to make sure they want to cripple the WH during a time of war over the fact some people talked to the press to straighten out the lies the press printed. Because that is what this is boiling down to.

You have written about this retired CIA guys in the VIPS who have supported Wilson. They go to these conferences that Cynthia McKinney has about 9-11.

Here is who was at McKinney’s 9-11 conference on July 22, 2005

    Ray McGovern–VIPS

Who was at Mc Kinney’s 9-11/Able Danger conference on September
    23, 2005

    Ward Churchill–WOW!
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/weeklystandard/20050929/cm_weeklystandard/marchoftheconspiracytheorists

Were any of the VIPS there with Ward Churchill??

Churchill is currently advocating genocide of Americans:

[Hitler] “should have exterminated your American grandparents instead of the Jews,” because of the evil deeds the Americans have done for generations, exploiting and oppressing people all over the world, killing 500,000 Iraqi children who are not less valuable than any American, and perhaps more valuable.” http://www.americanthinker.com/comments.php?comments_id=3493

I wish someone would see what these guys are doing. I am more worried about people like Wilson, the VIPS, and Ward Churchill than I am about Carl Rove or Scooter Libby.

The guys is the White House are trying to keep us safe and help the Iraqis build a democracy. And they are succeeding.

Bush Rocks! And so do Rove, Libby, Cheney, Rumsfeld. They are the good guys.

Thanks for a very informative post Snapple.

You are absolutely correct that the President and his cabinet and advisors are the “good guys”. Wish we could get most of the MSM to see it that way..just wishful thinking I know.

  3. Snapple says:

My post is a little bit wrong about Churchill so I am correcting it.

Churchill would not let media or regular people record his speech so it was recorded secretly and not too clearly.

Churchill said in a soft voice that he was reading an e-mail and then read the e-mail in a loud voice. Two witnesses didn’t hear him say it was an e-mail. So he was supposedly reading someone else’s words–not saying his own opinions as I understand it.

Now Churchill is very sneaky and may have done this on purpose just to trap the secret tapers. The talk was on civil liberties issues, but you can’t tape a public speech??

Also, Churchill is a big liar and we don’t really know the source of the e-mail. He could have made it up. He fabricates, plagiarizes and ghostwrites. This e-mail incident may have been a provocation against sectret tapers.

    The details are at http://www.pirateballerina.com

They just give the corrected facts about what happened. The speculation about why this mistake happened is mine.

Like the VIPS, Ward Churchill goes to Cynthia McKinney’s 9-11 conspiracy theory conferences. He went to the one she had on Able Danger.

Here is what the Denver Post writes. But remember they wouldn’t let any recording devices in to record this speech. And two people (see below) didn’t hear him say he was reading an e-mail because he said it softly. Normally he has a very loud voice.

I think Churchill did this on purpose to embarrass his critics. That’s how he is. I even think it is possible that Churchill made up these e-mails.

    The Denver Post wrote:

“In the DePaul speech, Chicago attorney Chaya Gil writes about hearing Churchill tell students that Hitler should have exterminated “your American grandparents instead of the Jews.” Jonathan Cohen, a math professor at DePaul, makes a similar reference in another article for The American Thinker. Neither could be reached for comment Thursday.

Churchill said that he was telling the students about the hateful e-mail he received since the controversy broke about his 9/11 statements.

Churchill said he quoted one e-mail that said American Indians should have been exterminated instead of Jews and another that said Churchill’s grandparents should have been sterilized. He said American Thinker writers misquoted him.”
