Has The Lunatic Left Gone Viral As Well?

Published by at 2:47 pm under All General Discussions

Major Update: Hmm, is someone who thinks the war on terror is wrong, being in Iraq is wrong, being in Afghanistan wrong a liberal? Most people would say yes, those are clearly leftwing positions. And so is someone who agrees with the far left and who kills someone in cold blood immune from the wrath of America?

A 23-year-old man upset about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan opened fire from his truck at two soldiers standing outside a military recruiting station here on Monday morning, killing one private and wounding another, the police said.

The gunman, identified by the police as Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad of Little Rock, fled the scene and was arrested minutes later a short distance from the recruiting station, in a bustling suburban shopping center. The police confiscated a Russian-made SKS semiautomatic rifle, a .22-caliber rifle and a handgun from his black pickup truck.

In a lengthy interview with the police, Mr. Muhammad said he was angry about the killing of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, Chief Thomas said. Previously known as Carlos Bledsoe, Mr. Muhammad told investigators that he had converted to Islam as a teenager, Chief Thomas said.

So is the man who attacked these soldiers as much a part of the leftwing fringe as the whack job who killed Dr. Tiller part of the rightwing fringe? Didn’t leftwing extremists claim our efforts to confront Islamo Fascist nothing more than war crimes and mass murder, the same way Scott Roeder saw legal abortions as mass murder? I would say both fringes and their heated rhetoric are igniting unstable and violent believers to murder in cold blood.

But then again I am a simple, centrist American who has realized the fringe in this country have become deadly. – end update.

One can only guess at the motivation behind an apparent assassination of US Army recruiters:

Little Rock police are working the scene of a double shooing.  It happened around 10:00 a.m. at a U.S. Army Recruiting office at 9112 North Rodney Parham Road. The two men shot were U.S. Army recruiters.

Authorities have just told FOX16 that one of the men shot has died at a local hospital. The other man is still in serious condition.

Captain Randy Hickman with the Little Rock Fire Department tells FOX16 that the bomb squad has been called to the scene at I30/630.  There is some type of device in the SUV the suspect was driving.

Is this country ready to finally deal with the fringe nut cases in the fevered swamps on the left and right? More here:

A new soldier helping to attract others to the military was shot and killed outside an Army recruiting office Monday and a second soldier was wounded, and a suspect was arrested, police said.

A man inside a black vehicle pulled up outside the Army-Navy recruiting office in west Little Rock and opened fire about 10:30 a.m., said police Lt. Terry Hastings.

The two soldiers were outside the office when they were shot. They were taken to a hospital, where one died.

The vehicle was stopped on Interstate 630 a short time later and a suspect was taken into custody. Hastings said the suspect pulled over and surrendered without incident. Police found an assault rifle in the vehicle.

As the father of a newly minted US Marine this news is beyond horrific. These scum deserve to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This civil war between the far left and far right needs to be ended, right damn now!

Addendum: The horror of this act is simply stunning. These young men volunteered their lives to protect this nation, and they are gunned down on their hometown street. One has to wonder at the madness behind such an act. We need answers to this and to the assassination of Dr Tiller ASAP. This country cannot devolve into bloody chaos because of political extremist views.

Update: The only good news so far is the second victim did not sustain life threatening injuries. Our prayers go out to the families of both victims.

Update: Ed Morrissey’s take on the news.

Ok, the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force has been investigating this guy since he got back from Yemen.

He isn’t a lefty, he is apparently a fundamentalist terrorist, just like the guy who shot the abortionist was.

“he is apparently a fundamentalist terrorist, just like the guy who shot the abortionist was.”

    A very good point.

  3. […] it was lost over the weekend after the murders committed by the left and right fringe (see here and here) pushed the post down ‘below the fold’.  Comments by President Obama […]

You should be ashamed of yourself, AJ. You are now equating Muslim terrorists with “the left”, because they share a couple of opinions on Iraq and Afghanistan?

I’m fairly certain I could find 2 or 3 common beliefs between you and, say, Stormfront. That doesn’t make you a white supremicist. And the fact that this terrorist shares a couple of beliefs with liberals does not make him a member of “the fringe left”.

I actually believed you yesterday when you promised a correction, becaused I believed you were a man of principle. Rest assured I will never think that again.

You have disgraced the memory of this brave soldier, in order to score a couple of cheap political points. And all because you are too vain to simply admit “I was wrong”. I hope your son is proud of you.

    Shame on you.

    Guy,

It is more than a casual connection. And no, you can’t find anything to link me to storm front. I can quote numerous democrat leaders calling Bush and our war in Iraq mass murder and war crimes.

And you know I can. So stop your whining.

You are a cheap, disgraceful partisan hack, who cares more about winning points for “his side” than you do about this country. Your desperation to prove that this shooting was a “counter-point” to the murder of Dr. Tiller, despite all evidence to the contrary, is quite sad, really.

You are also too vain and prideful to admit when you are wrong. How very un-Christian of you.

You have disgraced yourself, this site, and your very family with this disgusting display. Congratulations.

  7. AJStrata says:

    Guy,

I don’t have a side – I am no longer a conservative and never was a republican. And I can tell by your tirade you know damn well I can link to numerous democrats making those claims.

I will not rub your nose in it by doing so. But we both know I have a valid point. The lunatic left is no better than the lunatic right. Which was my point and which proves ‘my side’ is the center of America.

  8. DJStrata says:

OK, so this guy now considers himself a muslim fanatic, but he is a US CITIZEN. He recently converted to Islam and decided to go train in Yemen. Of course there is every possibility that he is a leftwing fanatic. Is it confirmed? No. Was this in retaliation to Dr. Tiller’s murder? Probably not. But the fanatics on both sides need to be stopped from these violent acts.

You all need to read through the posts a couple of times and try reading between the lines. My dad does not normally spell things out completely. Mainly because we all hope that the people reading this blog are smart enough to think things through.

“I am no longer a conservative”

Your views still seem pretty conservative to me. And you continue to link almost solely to radical right wingers with the exception of John Cole. When will you remove these sites and start linking to Donklephant, Moderate Voice, and other centrist/center-left/center-right/moderate/independent blogs?

    giantslor,

I have been thinking about expanding the roll. I have deleted Malkin, Redstate, NRO (with one exception), Macsmind and many others on the far right over the years.

Our current President, who I think would be considered by almost everyone to wholly embody the “left-wing”, used the same core belief system espoused by Mr. “Muhammad” as one of the main pillars of his campaign to get the nomination. And he continued to use it, although not quite as much, in the general. In fact, Muhammad’s mantra has been employed by the bulk of the Democratic party or the “left-wing” in varying degrees since anyone dared suggest we strike back at all for 9/11, reaching MONUMENTAL heights after the Iraq operation started running into trouble. It was almost entirely what they were about, and they continue to cling to it to this day.

While at the same time, abortion was far from a central issue or theme coming from John McCain. There really wasn’t that much talk about abortion by either side.

Minus the violence, Muhammad is barely distinguishable from Michael Moore ideology-wise, whose film Fahrenhype 9/11 was viewed and praised by top Democrat Party officials, along with everyone else on the left. He sat next to Jimmy Carter at the 2004 convention. I’m having a hard time thinking of a valid counterpart on the right involving the issue of abortion.

And who got the vast bulk of the Muslim vote in 2008 based on having in effect said the same thing Muhammad said about our foreign policy? IF people want to blame Bill O’Reilly for Tiller’s death, then I’m afraid we’re just going to have to blame Barack Obama for this recruit’s death.

In other words, it’s every bit as valid to label Muhammad “left-wing”, as it is to label Tiller’s killer “right-wing”. It looks to me like Muhammad is a better fit, actually. However, I think it would make much more sense to simply put both men in the ANIMAL category, as they have pretty much given up their claim to being human.

Of course, it always seems to come back to the media. They’ll never point out these striking, undeniable parallels regarding Muhammad and Obama and the left, or the left-wing mouthpieces Muhammad may have been influenced by — but they’ll do everything they can to tie OUR mouthpieces, the entire Republican party, the entire conservative movement, in fact anyone who considers himself to be pro-life — to Tiller’s killer. Anyone who speaks out against abortion is culpable, while the others skate on by.

How fundamentally unfair. There’d be marches in the streets if it came to be known that 8-9 out of 10 journalists and editors, the very people charged with supplying us with supposedly dispassionate information, voted for Republicans.

    Gary1son,

Very well said. I couldn’t agree more.
