In Tianenman the tanks came out and crushed the protestors ruthlessly. The protests were crushed. However, in Romania, after the internal security police began attacking protestors, the regular army joined the protestors and sent it's tanks in to protect them from the internal security forces, and there were even some battles over bases between the two groups. The army and the people united were unstoppable, and the dictator Ceaucescu fell and was executed by machinegun after a 6 hour midnight trial.
