I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! In recent years, with my parents now in their 80’s, my family of six moves into my parent’s home (five miles down the road) for a few nights so we can do the cooking and prepping and hosting and eating and drinking without moving the wild horde between the houses constantly. This year we hosted around 20 people (hard to tell since a lot of plans for our guests were changing up until meal time). It was a heart warming sight to see two large tables of friends and family in my parent’s home (plus a small card table for the three young 0nes) enjoying the rare occasion to get together and catch up.

But before I go off to the gym to pay my penance for indulging myself, I decided I had some quiet time to review the headlines. With the liberal media salivating at surrender in Iraq I think it might have been better to just ignore their ranting for one more day. Oh well, here we go anyway.

The Washington Post has two major articles that simply reflect the liberal delusion that Iraq is a failure. As I pointed out in this post, the recent Iraqi statements of cohesion hosted by the Arab League shows we are on the brink of success and all the calls for surrendering and running are simply a sad joke on the left.

For a good laugh let’s look at the doom and gloom, chicken little view of the Iraq through the sad eyes of Dan Balz:

As he leads a fierce campaign this month to rebut criticism of the Iraq war, President Bush faces twin challenges — one of them rooted in history, the other in the political realities of the moment.

Bush’s historical burden is that there is no recent precedent for a leader using persuasion to reverse a steady downward slide for a military venture of the sort he is facing. Only clear evidence of success in Iraq is likely to alleviate widespread unease about the central project of this presidency, public opinion experts and political strategists say.

Balz’s reliance on spin from ‘public opinion experts and political strategists” illustrates how the left will have to keep their eyes closed while the scream into the liberal echo chamber Iraq will never work! Iraq has had two successful major elections ,with the a final round coming within three weeks to vote in their permanent democratic government. But to Balz and company this is not a clear success over Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda. The Arab street has risen up and denounced Al Qaeda and Zarqawi as evil and a threat against Islam (not the US), and Balz and his desperate gang are still trying to lose at all costs.

That leads to the White House’s most daunting political problem. Even if Iraq is someday viewed as a success — and Bush’s decision to try to make that country a democratic beacon in the Middle East seen as visionary — it is an open question whether this proof can arrive during his presidency.

See folks we should have allowed Saddam to stay in power, lifted the economic sanctions which weren’t working anyway, let him reconstitute his WMD programs so he could ally with terrorist and look like this. Yeah, Dan Balz has a plan and it’s a doozey!

The second liberal fantasy the post ran with today was trying to salvage the Mad Murtha Icon from the dustbin of history. Of course, their attempt to paint Murtha as mainstream is to point out how liberally fanatical his party is in comparison:

Of all the Democrats calling for an end to the Iraq war, Rep. John P. Murtha is an anomaly. Unlike Sens. John F. Kerry (Mass.) and Russell Feingold (Wis.), he doesn’t want to be president. He’s no liberal, like his House colleagues Dennis J. Kucinich (Ohio) and Maxine Waters (Calif.). He’s certainly the only one to call Vice President Cheney a friend.

And he made a huge mistake calling for the surrender in Iraq as the Arab street is now rising up and declaring war on our enemies. Liberals are so blind by Bush hatred they cannot perceive the historic changes coming to the ME. And all we have to wonder is why we even listen to them anymore. Suffice to say the Washington Post and NY Times have become a laughing stock due to their stupid partisan moves. They are now an simply an example of how not to think and how not ‘win’ by constantly trying to lose.

What is stunning is why the liberals want to capitulate to these animals?

A suicide attacker steered a car packed with explosives toward U.S. soldiers giving away toys to children outside a hospital in central Iraq on Thursday, killing at least 31 people. Almost all of the victims were women and children, police said.

As much as the left is trying to surrender at every opportunity, Al Qaeda and Zarqawi are trying to insight a complete and comprehensive backlash against extreme Islamicists by barbaric behavior that drives the Arab street to our side. There is no second coming of Saladin in the acts of cowards who kill defenseless woman and children. The kind of Muslim Warrior these animals represent will universally be rejected in the ME because it is the antithesis of what the ME envisions as their high moral symbol.

King Abdullah of Jordan is probably going to become part of the new image of the ME – along with the countless Muslim heroes now establishing the new Iraq.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II appointed a new prime minister and called on the government to undertake a war on terrorism in the wake of hotel bombings Nov. 9 in the capital, Amman, that killed at least 57 people.

Marouf Bakhit, a former ambassador to Israel, was appointed prime minister, Jordan’s official news agency Petra said late yesterday. The king said his government must fight the Takfiri culture adopted by al-Qaeda terrorists that condones attacking people they consider infidels.

Maybe Bin Laden can make one of his rare appearances and explain why his brave and holy warriors felt so threatened by the women and children of Iraq they felt they had to kill them. Maybe Al Qaeda’s definition of ‘infidel’ is much broader than people think.

But what is going to cripple the left and the media is not just the fact that they are trying to surrender to Al Qaeda at the same exact time the Arab street is rising up on our side and establishing the largest democracy in the region. The coupe de grace of the liberal ideology will be when Saddam’s ties to terrorism are exposed in the coming months.

Almost every responsible U.S. government body had long warned about Saddam’s links to al-Qaida terrorists. In 1998, for example, when the Clinton Justice Department indicted bin Laden, the writ read: “In addition, al-Qaida reached an understanding with the Government of Iraq that al-Qaida would not work against that government and that on particular projects, specifically including weapons development, al-Qaida would work cooperatively with the Government of Iraq.”

Then in October 2002, George Tenet, the Clinton-appointed CIA director, warned the Senate in similar terms: “We have solid reporting of senior-level contacts between Iraq and al-Qaida going back a decade.” Seventy-seven senators apparently agreed — including a majority of Democrats — and cited just that connection a few days later as a cause to go to war against Saddam: ” … Whereas members of al-Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq.”

Instead, the Justice Department, the Senate and two administrations were alarmed by terrorist groups like Ansar al-Islam, an al-Qaida affiliate that established bases in Iraqi Kurdistan.

More importantly, one of the masterminds of the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center, Abdul Rahman Yasin, fled to Baghdad to find sanctuary with Saddam after the attack. And after the U.S.’s successful war against the Taliban, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the present murderous al-Qaida leader in Iraq, reportedly escaped from Afghanistan to gain a reprieve from Saddam.

And there is no doubt the sanctuary, funding and training of terrorists by Saddam would have continued. But here is where the defeatists on the left have betrayed themselves on the altar of ego. In order to face the error of their ways in resisting the changes in the ME from bloody dictatorship to free democracies, the left has had to abandon all those innocent people they claimed they cared most about. They abandoned them to make the case Saddam should have stayed in power. The left’s preferred future was Saddam and the Taliban in power and growing in strength and cockiness. But Bush’s version of reality is the one we know see in front of us:

The theory behind all these messy and often caricatured efforts was not the desire for endless war — we removed by force only the two worst regimes, in Afghanistan and Iraq — but to allow Middle Easterners a third alternative between Islamic radicalism and secular dictatorship. No wonder that wherever there are elections in the Middle East — Afghanistan and Iraq — legitimate governments there have the moral authority and the desire to fight Islamic terrorism.

The left is dead in this country/ It is dead because it quit on humanity, quit on the needy, quit on the brutalized and tortured, quit on those in mass graves across Iraq. We accept their surrender from reality and from the high moral ground. Their desire to lose has been fulfilled.

Out and about on the blogosphere Michelle Malkin has a great story of one person challenging the Supreme-Surrender-Mom Cindy Sheehan.

Captain Ed has the story on how terrorists decided to bomb hotels in Bali as a back up to bombing a memorial service. Terrorism is now waging a war on weddings and funerals, and the left seems OK with that since they want us to surrender.

And if you have any doubt the left is un American, as well as mentally sick, check out this PETA effort to demonize parents regarding Thanksgiving. The left is deranged and unstable – so why do we listen to them?

Hope you all have a great, liberal-fanatic free weekend!

In the past, I have tried to be reasonable with the Left, as well as the Democrat Party, but their treasonous lies and the slander of the US has gone too far.

I will no longer be civil with a Party that will not denounce the poison that has infiltrated their ranks. For the last 40 years the RAT Party has devolved into the Socialist loving, America hating Party is is now. I have no problem speaking the truth to them now, and will not apologize for calling them out on every lie and slanderous assault on this Country.

Keep up the good fight AJ.

Thirty-one victims, mostly women and children. This the bloody outcome of the last kamikaze attack organized by the so-called “insurgents”, the one our pacifists consider the last resource against American imperialism. A suicide bomber steered a car …

Adding to things to be thankful for this (just past) Thanksgiving, a meaningful gesture of “thanks to America” from Iraq: Their Red Crescent, the Iraqi equivalent of our Red Cross, just wire-transferred One Million (American) dollars for Katrina victims. The amount is approximately 20% of their entire annual budget.

The story was in the Washington Times today, 11/25, but is not likely to get much play in most of the media. Link below:

    Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. 🙂

Oops. That would be yesterday’s Washington Times.

Balz’s article is so full of false premises that it isn’t even funny. In my post, I said that his statement “Only clear evidence of success in Iraq is likely to alleviate widespread unease about the central project of this presidency” shows how little these guys research things. I linked to some quotes from Maj. Gen. Lynch who said that Operation Steel Curtain is a definite success.

If the Agenda Media won’t report it, then the blogosphere will have to do the heavy lifting on this one, too, proving yet again that there’s nothing new under the sun.
