Peace Activists Hostage

Published by at 2:58 pm under All General Discussions

If you are following the breaking hostage news in Iraq, there is no better site than the Jawa Report which has an exclusive on the video and the hostages themselves. We pray for them and their families.

There are some interesting updates at Jawa Report. The first is an ignorant move by the peace group the hostages work for blaming the US for their abduction. As Rusty points out, this move probably condemned their people to a horrific series of deaths by beheading as Zarqawi tries to intimidate America with is barbarity.

This is bad news for the hostages if confirmed. If the mesage from the Christian Peacemaker Teams is meant to garner sympathy from the Salafist terror organization, then they are barking up the wrong tree. The only hope for the four Westerners is if the U.S., British, or Iraqi armies find them and liberate them–as they did former hostage Roy Hallums. Ironic, since these are the very people who are risking their lives yet who are blamed by the pacifist organization for the plight of their representatives.

The second update is adds irony on top of the tragedy. Apparently this peace movement was allowed into Iraq pre-invasion to act as human shields. Now they are human pawns. Not to be harsh, but Darwin was right you know.

The posters there are not very nice. Their remarks are very callous.

We have a better class of commentors here, obviously! 😉

Sometimes Snapple, a line is drawn and the Left has crossed it…. many months (years?) ago. Although I would not say or write some of what was posted, I wholeheartedly agree with most.

The Left has become a treasonous bunch, and I will no longer try to reason with them. The irony of this particular situation is, well, ironic in itself. Peace activists held by the Religion of Peace (RoP). Staged for MSM/DNC effects, this stunt will either wake some folks up or blow up in their face. Whichever, I could give a (Democ) Rat’s Ass about. I shall stop right here….

This kidnapping is starting to look like a staged event, but I think the actual victims may be the unfortunate sacrificial lambs of an organization that is only exploiting them. A lot of well-intentioned by not-so-bright people are in these organizations.

Here is the Christian Peacemaker Teams’ site. You don’t want to miss it.

They have “a seasonal presence along the Arizona/ Mexico border since 2004.”

They sound like an organization that uses “peacemaking” as a cover for anti-American propaganda. So what else is new?

They say that “The Peace Churches have brought an important gift to the table; namely, the absolute refusal to kill in situations of conflict. ”

That is possibly a lie too. Maybe the leaders of this organizaton have set up their own workers.

This CPT has had “a Baghdad-based presence since October 2002. Team members accompanied the Iraqi people through the U.S.-led 2003 war and continue during the post-war occupation to expose abusive acts by U.S. Armed Forces and support Iraqis committed to nonviolent resistance. ”

Well, there it is. They are “exposing abusive acts by the U.S. Armed Forces.” I wonder why they didn’t expose abusive acts by Saddam while they were in Baghdad?

    Yeah, right.

When they were in Baghdad in 2002 criticizing the US, I doubt they were criticizing Saddam’s murdering ways or they would have been kicked out. So they really aren’t pacifists, because their peacemaking is one-sided.

The “gift” they bring Iraq is a willingness to stand by silently while the really big Baathist killers do their dirty work.

On the other hand, they have all kinds of criticism for American soldiers who are trying to protect Iraqis from killers.

These sound like NAZI-controlled or Soviet-controlled religious organizations.

Still, we need to see more about what is going on here. Sometimes the truth is different than it seems. It could be that these particular individuals departed from the CPT script. Sometimes the baby lambs open their eyes.

The terrorists are calling the hostages spies, so maybe these particular individuals were holding the terrorists to the same standards as they hold our soldiers. We will have to see.

If they are really being held hostage, I suspect that they will be glad if the Marines manage to locate and rescue them.

I really wonder if individuals higher-up in their organization may have set them up.
