Today the House has subpoenaed all White House documents relating to Solyndra.

By a 14-9 party-line vote the Energy and Commerce Committee’s investigative subcommittee authorized issuing a subpoena for any White House documents related to Solyndra, which received renewable energy loan guarantees under President Obama’s stimulus program. The request for documents could include details of the president’s own travel and communications.

Democrats said it was “unprecedented” to subpoena documents from the president’s executive office like this, but Republicans said they’ve run out of patience with White House “stalling.”

“We simply cannot allow the executive branch at its highest levels to pick and choose what they will produce, or whether they will produce anything at all,” said Rep. Cliff Stearns, the Florida Republican who runs the investigative panel.

Finally we have some Congressmen with a moral compass. It only took a year of being the majority in the House, but I’ll take it. Anything attempts to stop, stall, and/or reverse the immoral, unlawful acts of this Administration. The Democrats and the Administration are trying to claim that the Republicans are acting in bad faith.

Rep. Fred Upton, Michigan Republican and chairman of the full committee, said several new boxes of documents were released to the press Wednesday night even before they were turned over to the committee. Those documents reportedly show the Obama administration mulled bailing Solyndra out just days before the solar panel manufacturer collapsed.

Emphasis mine. I’m pretty sure sending documents to the press prior to the investigating body is acting in bad faith. If you provided the press with evidence prior to notifying the police you could be charged with obstructing an investigation. “Documents the GOP has already obtained show approval was sped up despite the concerns of some officials.” I’m pretty sure that is probable cause to request more information. With this knowledge it is no longer a fishing expedition. Democrats shut up and step aside. This Adminstration and anyone involved will pay for the injustice done to the tax payers.

Yesterday, Obama not only brought God into his Jobs plan whining but apparently he is now a spokesman for God. It will be interesting to see if this statement hurts him with voters. Most people have realized he is far from the “messiah” that was promised in ’08.

“There’s no good reason to oppose this bill, not one. And members of Congress who do, who vote no, are going to have to explain why to their constituencies,” Obama said.

“The American people are with me with this,” Obama said, intensifying his campaign to blame Republicans for inaction on bills he says could put hundreds of thousands of Americans back to work and cut 9.1 percent unemployment.

I can think of a few reasons not to back this bill. The fact that every time Obama’s idea gets passed it hurts the economy, causes the stock market to drop, costs the tax payers, etc. The House has passed a jobs bill and Reid refuses to allow it near the Senate floor. Americans need to point fingers at the do-nothing Democrats who have continued to throw temper tantrums and pout in the corner since they were voted against in 2010.

We do not need a politician who thinks he is God’s gift to the people anywhere in our government, let alone the White House. Vote this fake out!!

The MSM continues its double standard critiques of candidates. Obama was barely vetted during the 2008 election. Romney has barely been vetted this time around. The MSM favorites always get a pass. Then we get to the hypocrisy for the Republicans vs the Democrats. Clinton had multiple women speak up about extra marital affairs. One even occurring while in the White House. And there are many more Democrats who have gotten away with illegal or immoral activities.

But lets take a look at this supposed “situation” involving Cain. There are two women who have come out and said that they had a claim of sexual harassment against Cain over 10 years ago. The National Restaurant Association gave the women payouts to leave and keep quiet. These “claims” were never brought to a court. Cain never admitted guilt or was found guilty by a court. The payouts were quite small. Hmmm, this screams of women making unsubstantiated claims of harassment against a man for money. It happens all of the time. Any time a man is in a situation alone with a woman there is the opportunity for sexual harassment to be claimed.

Why do you think male doctors require a female nurse to be present for exams of female patients? Too many of these types of claims. Why do you think more office doors have windows into the hallways? To help cut down on these claims. Any woman who is out for revenge, is angry at someone, wants money, etc. can use this claim to get what she wants. It turns into a he said-she said situation and our society and justice system takes the woman’s side more often than not. And people exploit that.

So what that the National Restaurant Association paid off two women who could potentially damage the image of the association. All parties were required to sign an NDA to keep the potential for damage low. But then after over 10 years someone saw dollar signs and decided to trap Cain. “Cain spoke about the situation and now the NDA is breached and I can talk too.” Really? Cain was defending himself against information that was already out there. Whoever spilled the information first is in breach of the agreement. I write these things every day. Nice try.

Americans are fed up with how politics has turned into a mudslinging fest. We are tired of the negative campaigning. If you cannot campaign and win on your own merit, experience, and plans then get out of the game. DC politicians, MSM, DNC, RNC and anyone else who prefers dirty politics needs to grow up or get out of the way. If you don’t we will forcibly move you out of our way via the ballot box. Continue to under estimate the people and the power that we wield and you will end up on your ass in the streets.

Unless there is hard proof of Cain committing a serious crime once or repetitively I will support him all the way to the White House. Cain please clean house!

Nancy Pelosi said the following in her inaugural speech to the House as the first female Speaker of the House:

And the American people told us they expected us to work together for fiscal responsibility, with the highest ethical standards and with civility and bipartisanship. After years of historic deficits, this 110th Congress will commit itself to a higher standard: pay as you go, no new deficit spending. Our new America will provide unlimited opportunity for future generations, not burden them with mountains of debt.

In 2007, the US debt was $9.815 trillion. Currently our debt is $14,259,761,986,879.66 During the four years that Nancy Pelosi was in charge of the branch of Congress that manages our budget she allowed roughly $4.5 trillion to be added to our debt. How is that “not burden[ing] them with mountains of debt?”

I applaud the House for sticking to their “guns” and pushing the hard spending cuts that need to be made. Our society is so stuck on having everything paid for by someone else. We need to cut spending, especially on entitlement programs and make people realize they have to earn what they receive.

Will this cause trouble and disaster for many people? Yes. Will they learn the necessary lesson? Some will. We need to make people accountable again.

Its not realistic now, but I would like to see Congress go back to being a part time job. If the government isn’t funding and running all of these programs that the government shouldn’t be involved in then we don’t need full time Congressmen.

Saw this article today on FoxNews.com. It is scary. Voters do not have to prove that they are citizens and are the only ones that have the right to vote in this country? I don’t care if its a federal or state standard. It should be the standard. And this quote tops them all:

“This will enable the many poor people in Arizona who lack driver’s licenses and birth certificates to register to vote,” said Jon Greenbaum, legal director for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

You have got to be kidding! Its not that they are poor. Its that they are illegal!!!!

The 9th Circuit’s chief judge, Alex Kozinski, wrote a sharp dissent, saying the ruling ignored precedent and was flat wrong on its legal analysis.

“Few panels are able to upset quite so many apple carts all at once,” Kozinski concluded. “Count me out.”

Gov. Jan Brewer and Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett issued a joint statement calling the decision an “outrage and a slap in the face to all Arizonans who care about the integrity of their elections.”

“Arizona voters have made their will crystal clear — non-citizens do not have the right to vote,” they wrote. “We will continue to pursue any and all legal remedies to prevent fraudulent voter registration in the State of Arizona, as well as the right of our state citizens to craft appropriate protections.”

This should not only enrage the people of Arizona, it should enrage every American! We have got to stop the voter fraud. It is making a joke of our electoral system. We need to scale back funding for bogus, fluffy, non-helpful, deficit adding programs and spend a little on making sure out votes are legitimate!

The Obama administration has decided to prosecute 5 terrorists from 9/11 in New York federal court. A court that the tax payers have to pay for. A court where these terrorists are going to be treated like an American criminal. A court that is mere blocks from ground zero. Yet, some other terrorists are going to be tried by military tribunals. Why separate them? These are POWs and should be treated as such. If an American were to commit these acts in their countries the American would have been put death very quickly.

The other major problem with this decision is that evidence in a federal court is made public. Names of people involved, interrogation tactics, details of investigation tactics will all be made public. How can a President honestly think that it is okay for this information to be made public. It will hinder our intelligence community. In a military tribunal this information is not made public.

I have been impressed by the sheer outrage coming from Americans on this issue. I cannot believe that the Obama administration is willing to upset the Americans even more than he already has. We are not as stupid as he thinks we are. We will still be able to focus on healthcare, the economy, and this outrageous decision.

I know that AJ does not follow the local elections as closely as he follows national issues, but I had to share this. Below is what Creigh Deeds, the Democratic nominee for Virginia’s next governor, said after the debate yesterday:

it would have ended their career. But other than that the video shows how Deeds has no plan if he gets elected. When Kilgore ran with no plan he was demolished by Kaine in the election. I can’t wait to see McDonnell come out on top!

With the Federal Reserve holding interest rates at rock-bottom levels, pumping trillions into the economy and now poised to have new powers to oversee the financial system under President Obama’s proposed regulatory overhaul, Paul said lawmakers want transparency.

“If they give them a lot more power and there’s no more transparency, that’ll be a disaster,” he said.

The bill would call for the comptroller general in the Government Accountability Office to audit the Fed and report those findings to Congress. The GAO’s ability to conduct such audits now is severely restricted.

A slew of top Republicans are backing the bill, as are many Democrats.

There is a similar bill in the Senate:

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., introduced a bill similar to Paul’s in the Senate in March, which so far has attracted just three co-sponsors — DeMint and Republican Sens. David Vitter of Louisiana and Mike Crapo of Idaho.

But DeMint told FOX News last week that the measure would have a good chance of passing the Senate if supporters can push Paul’s to a vote, which he said would be successful, in the House.

The House bill is being held up in the House Financial Services Committee which is chaired by Barney Franks. This is the type of transparency that we need and that Obama promised in his campaign. Its time to make our voices loud and clear that this is what we want!

The Obama administration has recinded the invites to Iranian officials to join in the U.S. celebrations of the 4th of July. But they are not recinding those invites because they are showing support for the people of Iran or to show that they do not condone these acts by the Iranian officials. Instead, according to the White House they are taking back the invites because no one has RSVP’d:

“As you all know many weeks ago the administration extended an invitation to celebrate the freedom that this country enjoys. not surprisingly based on what we see in Tehran, no one has RSVP’d,” said White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

“Understand that July 4th allows us to celebrate the freedom and liberty that we enjoy. I don’t think it’s surprising that no one has signed up to come given the events of the last few days. Those invitations will be no longer extended.

The liberals and the Democrats tend to attract a high percent of women as supporters. After this I will glady remain as far from the liberals and the Democrats as I possibly can. Watch this video and explain how a woman can still be a supporter.Â

I’m proud of Megyn Kelly and how she stood up for herself and the other women that this attack was against on national tv. Way to go!Â

It just goes to show that if we can get a strong conservative female to run it will make the Democrats very fearful. The only way they can attack someone so strong is through violence and that is not proper in any way!
Update: Here is a site that has the list of the 10 women mentioned in the piece.

Addendum: I hope DJ doesn’t mind me adding my two cents to this, but we have in these quotes she resurrected the potential to rebuild the conservative movement in a manner palatable for a broad coalition. These words of wisdom should be the litmus test of our policy proposals. We cannot run to the pure fringes and hope to right this country. If we can get back to AMERICAN principles – not conservative principles – then ownership and participation will grow under those principles. People are much more willing to reinvigorate America for the future than anything party allegiance.

If one group tries to own these principles, they bar others from sharing in them. We need to respect and learn from others who share these principles, but are not willing to take the same action or go as far as others. We need to define and accept common ground. It means compromise, but the result is a renewed America based on America’s founding principles, which is much more important than either party. AJStrata - end update

I despise people who go to the gutter on either the right or the left and hurl rocks at those in the center. — Dwight Eisenhower

After listening and watching the Republican party and conservatives implode upon themselves, and the Democrats and liberals disrespect anyone who opposes them and Obama, I decided that the best way to get back on the path towards success for this country is to look back to our founding fathers, founding documents, and some former Presidents.

We should not look back unless it is to derive useful lessons from past errors, and for the purpose of profiting by dearly bought experience. — George Washington

This country was founded based on the fundamentals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as well as other inalienable rights. When our country was founded we had just won a war fighting for our independence and for the opportunity to make our own decisions about our government and our country. And those patriots bring me to my first problem with society and this country today.

America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand. — Harry Truman

The founding fathers and the patriots who fought for our independence believed that you had to work hard to earn things in life.

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it. — James Monroe

Nowadays people believe that they are entitled to everything. And that the entity that should be providing everything for them is our government.

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned – this is the sum of good government. — Thomas Jefferson

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. — Thomas Jefferson

Our government was not designed to provide for the lazy.

You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves. — Abraham Lincoln

People cannot blame the government or other people for their own failures or for their circumstances. Only that person can change things for themselves.

If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn’t sit for a month. — Theodore Roosevelt

Probably the greatest harm done by vast wealth is the harm that we of moderate means do ourselves when we let the vices of envy and hatred enter deep into our own natures. — Theodore Roosevelt

Our government was set up to govern the United States, but the power was to remain in the hands of the people and the states.

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. — Thomas Jefferson

The people in this country need to understand that concept of you earn what you work for. We do not need the government to give us hand outs. We are better than that. The first step is to take credit for our problems and issues and to find a way for us as a people to fix them.

How few there are who have courage enough to own their faults, or resolution enough to mend them. — Benjamin Franklin

The first requisite of a good citizen in this republic of ours is that he shall be able and willing to pull his own weight. — Theodore Roosevelt

If the people want to continue to let the government try to invade and run our lives I suggest that they take the advice of Dwight Eisenhower:

If you want total security, go to prison. There you’re fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking…is freedom.

But to be able to fix our problems we still have to remember that liberty and justice are the basis of our government and that the power to govern is in the hands of the people.

The happy Union of these States is a wonder; their Constitution a miracle; their example the hope of Liberty throughout the world. — James Madison

When the American spirit was in its youth, the language of America was different; Liberty, sir, was the primary object. — Patrick Henry

Just a parting thought to keep in mind as well as those above…

The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself. — Benjamin Franklin

Â

[This is only the first of many posts, due to the fact that I have a full time job. Keep an eye out for more to come]

Most have claimed that Obama is very good at presentation in speeches and other events, well apparently Bill Clinton agrees:

“I haven’t cleared this with him and he may even be mad at me for saying this so close to the election, but I know what else he said to his economic advisers (during the crisis),” Clinton told the crowd at a Wednesday night rally with Obama in Florida. “He said, ‘Tell me what the right thing to do is. What’s the right thing for America? Don’t tell me what’s popular. You tell me what’s right — I’ll figure out how to sell it.’”

…

“Barack Obama had no idea what the right thing to do is or at least that’s Bill Clinton’s impression,” McCain spokesman Michael Goldfarb said.

“It’s disturbing that … Barack Obama’s response to this is ‘Tell me what to do and I will sell it,’” Goldfarb added. “That’s been Barack Obama’s entire campaign — is one big sales job.”

…

Clinton also said in Florida Wednesday night that Obama has proved himself by running a campaign that “involves so many people,” adding: “He has executed this campaign in a way that is different from modern and forward thinking — something no one else ever could have done. He can be the chief executor of good intentions as president.”

It’s not clear what he meant, since he pronounced the word ‘executer.’

Asked about Clinton’s intentions Wednesday, Goldfarb said: “I think … he clearly chooses his language carefully.”

He said it, we didn’t.
