Major Update: BTW, this story has two plausible story lines because the driving assumption behind this media theory is that the only transport mechanism was bodily fluids from Litvinenko. If Litvinenko had particulate contamination on his body or clothes or whatever, all the evidence in the Hotel room would make Litvinenko the [...]

New reader Lizarde noticed this truly interesting news item:
A week after the death of Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko from suspected radiation poisoning, the Muswell Hill road in which he lived remained sealed off in two places after traces of radiation were discovered.
Polonium-210 has been found at the 43-year-old’s home in Osier Crescent, off Coppetts Road, [...]

The Independent reported falsely (as I now know from our treasured reader Clarice Feldman is not uncommon) that Scaramella claimed Litvinenko was involved in nuclear smuggling, which later Scaramella denied happened.
But Scaramella told the AP that he had been misquoted by the newspaper.
“He (Litvinenko) wanted to see me because he knew about smuggling of nuclear [...]

The number of sites with contamination now supposedly stands at a dozen, according to the UK government.
Traces of radiation have been found at a dozen sites in Britain during the investigation of the poisoning of a former Russian spy, Home Secretary John Reid said Thursday.
Here is my list of the potential dirty dozen sites [...]

Seems the Democrats are on something of a self destruction path with the American voters. Nancy Pelosi made one of the dumbest comments any politician has made in a decade when she went into her full Neville Chamberlain mode and claimed there were no Al Qaeda in Iraq. Not only are Al Qaeda [...]

According to late reporting tonight one of the contaminated planes flew one of the Russians who met Litvinenko late in the day of the Polonium contamination of Litvinenko back to Moscow.
One of the two Russians who had drinks with Alexander Litvinenko on the day the ex-security service agent fell mortally ill has said he was [...]

Alexander Goldfarb, the spokesman for Berezovsky (and at times for Litvinenko) has decided to forego any radiation testing for contamination.
One of Mr Litvinenko’s closest friends, Alex Goldfarb, a daily visitor to his hospital bedside before his death last Thursday, yesterday said he had declined to be tested for contamination as he believed the risk was [...]

OK, this is a wild one. A key Russian from the Yeltsin-Berezovsky era who, like Berezovsky, could be considered an oligarch seems to be implicating Berezovsky in the Politkovskaya and Litvinenko deaths, and the sudden Gaida illness:
Anatoly Chubais, a top Yeltsin-era government official and now head of the national electricity monopoly, said he suspects [...]

Only in the US could one buy non-traceable, ‘no questions asked’ Polonium 210 over thi internet and shipped to the location of your choice in the US (where it can be then transported anywhere). I kid you not. It is the ‘no questions asked’ part that gets me.

The Times UK finally notes in their new timeline and map what I noted two days ago - there is a gap of three hours between the time Litvinenko purchases a newspaper in Picadily Circus at noon and when he meets Mario Scaramella at the Sushi Bar at 3:00 PM. The one location that [...]

Major Update: Contrary to some reporting, the flights of interest go well beyond the Moscow to London flights. - end update
Why was Polonium possibly found on two airpplanes? Well, one quick answer to the Airplanes (which I hinted at in this recent post on Mario Scaramella and his lack of contamination) is these [...]

I posted earlier that the two latest sites suspected of contamination were clean (the Sheraton Park Lane and 58 Grosvenor Street), which cleaned up the timeline and made it possible for the Sushi Bar where Litvinenko met Scaramelle to be the original source of the contamination. Well now it seems there are reports going [...]

The problem with Scaramella being determined ‘clean’ of Polonium today is that the contamination of the Polonium trailed by Litvinenko could have been from particles on clothing - which are harmless unless somehow the particles end up in the mouth and ingested. Since Scaramelle went back to Italy there is no way to determine [...]

I used to do “Flybys” a lot, which are nothing more than a compendium of quick hits on recent news items. I think I will need to get back into the habit given my upcoming work load. So let’s take a Flyby of some important stories (as opposed to much of the news [...]
