NY Times Stock Slide?

Published by under All General Discussions

This is one of those fun “I told you so” moments.  Michelle Malkin has a report out on what I predicted many times since starting this blog last spring (here, here and here) – which is a newspaper’s only ‘asset’ is it’s reputation.  Lose that and it loses its value.

Who Needs A Subpoena?

Folks are speculating over at Just One Minute on who could be covered under a subpoena for the NY Times: The subpoena to the Times also calls for: _Documents of contacts between any Times employee and any of eight people, including then-CIA Director George Tenet and then-White House spokesman Ari Fleischer, regarding Joe Wilson. _Documents […]

Russians Implicated In Oil For Food Scandal

One document of interest in the recently released documents uncovered in Iraq is this one which highlights a debate on how to deal with the UN inspections and keeping the UN out of certain sites. It is interesting has it seems to cover a 1996 debate within Hussein’s adivsory council discussing ways to turn world […]

On Zawahiri’s and Omar’s Trail

Interesting news item of Al Qaeda couriers captured in Jalabad, Afghanistan with letters from Al Qaeda number two Zawahiri and Taliban leader Omar. The region in question is near the Khybar Pass to Pakistan and not far from the region in Pakistan (click on the Map under ‘Related’). where all the latest fighting as been […]

Saddam Tied To Al Qaeda

Consider this the final nail in the coffin of the liberal fantasy about Al Qaeda ties to Iraq: The Bush administration Wednesday night released the first declassified documents collected by U.S. intelligence during the Iraq war, showing among other things that Saddam Hussein’s regime was monitoring reports that Iraqis and Saudis were heading to Afghanistan […]

Criminal Medicine

Published by under All General Discussions

The stories about a drug trial having gone terribley wrong indicates a serious short coming in the animal trials, if not some criminal negligance: Myfanwy Marshall, 35, said her boyfriend, a 28-year-old British man who had taken part in drug trials before without adverse side effects, felt ill 80 or 90 minutes after being given […]

Did Pincus Know About Plame Or Not?

CJR and Walter Pincus seem to be attempting to make the case Pincus was not privvy to Valerie Plame’s role with Joe Wilson’s trip – but end up with completely conflicting claims. Tom Maguire commented on the changing story across CJR and Vanity Fair, but I want to focus on an inconsistency in the CJR […]

Joe & Valerie Wilson circa 1999

Update: Check out the backs of the Wilsons courtesy Mac Ranger! Our reader SBD has discovered a February 26th, 1999 Presidential Gala announcement which proves my contention that it was well known Joe Wilson was married to Valerie (Plame) Wilson since they surfed the DC power scene. That meant anyone who worked with Valerie on […]
