GOP Response To Shutdown Bland, Whimpy, Defensive

Now I understand why the GOP continues to poll worse than the Dems in regard to the Shutdown Theater. They have no fire in their political efforts. A GOP ad has been released and it underscores this problem:

The ad is boringly factual, focused on House GOP CYA (we passed bills to fund the government) and wimpy.

The ad completely ignores the jack-boot criminal acts being perpetrated on normal average Americans by the Obama Shutdown Theater Gestapo (played by the National Park Service, if you can believe it).

From armed detention of Americans in NPS hotels:

The tourists were treated harshly by armed park employees, she said, so much so that some of the foreign tourists with limited English skills thought they were under arrest.

When finally allowed to leave, the bus was not allowed to halt at all along the 2.5-hour trip out of the park, not even to stop at private bathrooms that were open along the route.

“We’ve become a country of fear, guns and control,” said Vaillancourt, who grew up in Lawrence. “It was like they brought out the armed forces. Nobody was saying, ‘we’re sorry,’ it was all like — ” as she clenched her fist and banged it against her forearm.

To the forced eviction of 80 year old couples from their home:

Joyce Spencer is 77-years-old and her husband Ralph is 80. They’ve been spending most of their time in the family ice cream store since going home isn’t an option.

The Spencers never expected to be forced out of their Lake Mead home, which they’ve owned since the 70s, but on Thursday, a park ranger said they had 24 hours to get out.

To barring priests from giving mass to our soldiers and their families:

Father Ray Leonard serves at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in Georgia but because of the government shutdown, he wasn’t allowed to go to celebrate Mass this past weekend.

He is contracted by the Defense Department to meet the spiritual needs of Catholics, but not now. The chapel doors were locked and the sign said, “Shutdown: No Catholic service till further notice.”

To barricading private businesses from the OPEN federal road they are accessed from:

“He is turning guests away from a private business right now,” Rob Miller, the inn’s general manager said while filming the scene. “This is the federal government turning guests away from a private business.”

Watch the video (H/T: Sean Hannity Show):

Not to mention closing down public monuments, tot lots being barrycaded and Americans being fined for jogging in the forest!

The NPS excuses are ridiculous.  Apparently all those BS excuse flew out the window when The Mall was opened for a left-wing rally yesterday.

Each of these acts in the Shutdown Theater is unconstitutional in some form or another. Each deserves a law suit and heads to roll. And the best the GOP comes up with is that weak-tea ad?

The GOP needs to get its head out of DC and start making the case for the Americans being brutalized and harassed by Obama’s Shutdown Players. No political leader is pointing out these actions and calling foul. We all know the Dems are all for Oppressive Big Government, so that leaves the GOP to be the standard bearer for the Libertarian, Small Government Cause. And that requires more than bills being passed and milquetoast ads.

Obama and the Dems are taking huge beatings in Public Opinion going into the 2014 election season. First here:

According to the poll, 63% of those questioned say they are angry at the Republicans for the way they have handled the shutdown.

“But the Democrats are not getting off scot-free. Fifty-seven percent of Americans are also angry at the way the Democrats are dealing with the shutdown. And a 53% majority say they are also angry at President Obama,”

And here:

Overall, 62 percent mainly blamed Republicans for the shutdown. About half said Obama or the Democrats in Congress bear much responsibility.

Fifty-two percent said Obama is not doing enough to cooperate with Republicans to end the shutdown; 63 percent say Republicans aren’t doing enough to cooperate with him.

Most Americans disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job, the poll suggests, with 53 percent unhappy with his performance and 37 percent approving of it.

A good analysis of this poll is done by Ed Morrissey at Hot Air. A 5% spread in a poll with probably 3-5% margin of error, means both sides are getting equal heat – so far. The GOP needs to stand tall for the victims here: average Americans being harassed at gun point, injured financially and fined for no good reason. Each one of these victims should have a champion on Capitol Hill exposing their situation to the general public. That would shift the tied of popular opinion.

These two pictures are more in line with what this nation needs to be seeing out of the GOP. The first image may be too harsh, but the core message is spot on. The second speaks volumes.

The GOP could come out of this heroes, if they stand with the people outside the beltway and ignore the niceties of federal politics. Now is a time for grass roots hard ball.

Why Was Obamacare (Now ObamaCrash) Website Outsourced To Overseas Company?

One thing is clear, the #ObamaCare roll out has turned into the #ObamaCrash. From what I am reading on the tech side of things (and computer systems for NASA and DoD are my business area) the problems seem to be a case of hiring the wrong company for the job.

In this WSJ article, the company in charge of #ObamaCrash is identified:

ExperianEXPN.LN +0.09% PLC, an information-services firm, holds a federal subcontract to support that system. The company declined to comment.

Information technology experts who examined the healthcare.gov website at the request of The Wall Street Journal said the site appeared to be built on a sloppy software foundation. Such a hastily constructed website may not have been able to withstand the online demand last week, they said.

After looking at the company website USA (and learning it is a UK company to boot) one has to wonder why Experian selected? What was the competitive process used to select a company that does credit reporting on people when you want a website to handle millions of applications?

The business skillset between setting up large volume websites and running credit checks are night and day. So how did Experian get in the position to do such a shoddy job?

The cynic in me wants to think the best way to hide the new health care premium costs is to have the website go down. So maybe this was an evil plan to delay the sticker shock!

If this continues, HHS will have delayed the individual mandate where the GOP could not, since every day you cannot sign up is a day the government will be required to extend the registration!

More here at Hot Air:

What should clearly be an enterprise quality, highly scalable software application, felt like it wouldn’t pass a basic code review. It appears the people who built the site don’t know what they’re doing, never used it, and didn’t test it

It makes me wonder if this is the first paid application created by these developers.

It looks to me like amateur hour. I mean this is really pathetic.

Update: Hmm, the plot thickens. Experian and data breaches – this looks like a bit of a fast one!

So what happened?  Well it turns out that Experian did not re-bid for the contract and instead sent out renewal letters to 1+  million S.C. residents.  Reports, like the one above, came in that the call center was informing residents that the State would not be offering free credit monitoring service and that they could renew for a discounted price of 99 cents a month.  The reality is that the State is going to continue offering free credit monitor, just not through Experian!

BTW, do you know that by signing up to Obamacare your personal information is now in the hands of a credit reporting company? Is that smart?

Woa! Update: Did Experian just realize they don’t have the tech-savvy to pull of the Obamacare registration roll out?

Experian’s October 1 announcement that it acquired web fraud detection vendor The 41st Parameter for $324 million underscores the weakness of knowledge based authentication or KBA. Experian sells KBA to companies verifying identities of consumers conducting high-risk transactions. KBA systems are under siege and a systematic compromise of these applications was recently uncovered by security blogger Brian Krebs. See our previous blog on this as well as krebsonsecurity.com

Although Experian was not part of the uncovered botnet-based infiltration, the so called secret questions and answers used across most major KBA vendors such as Experian and LexisNexis are typically the same. As noted previously, KBA has — on average — a 10-15% failure rate which can go much higher and up to 30% in certain populations such as new immigrants or young students. Most KBA failures are legitimate individuals who can’t successfully answer the secret ‘out-of-wallet’ questions or for whom there is not enough data to ask any. At the same time, criminals who buy this information on the black market have no trouble answering them perfectly. (See our September 2012 research note G00237377 “When Knowledge-Based Authentication Fails, and What You Can Do About It”).

This key acquisition was JUST LAST WEEK! Are you kidding me?

Where Is The GOP PR Machine?

Major Update: When exposed to the public, the Barrycades come crashing down like some form of “evil from the night“:

After being taken down, officially because of the government shutdown, the federal website dealing with alerts about abducted children – AmberAlert.gov – was restored Monday morning.

It was not clear as to why it would cost less to change the website’s appearance than to just keep it the way it was.

In any case, after some negative publicity over the weekend and concern by many members of the public that the whole system was down, the Justice Department reversed course and restored the AmberAlert.gov website.

As would be guessed, the Barrycades are afraid of a little sunshine on them! – end update

Where oh where is the GOP media machine? Now that Obama and the NPS has given them so much damn ammunition to win the PR battle why is it all we hear and see is crickets?

When Obama Barrycaded Tot Lots to protect them from toddlers – where were the camera, ads and sound overs? Note: this was reported (but buried in the middle of the story) by the Washington Post so it has a great source!

When Obama Barrycaded the WWII Memorial, where is the 30 second ad of disgust? There is some amazing home-grown political art out there to tap! Why the silence?

When Obama Barrycaded a privately owned Inn open for business, even though the Federal Highway it sits off of was OPEN, where the GOP spinmeisters?

Update: This is what the GOP should be doing:

National Park Rangers shut down a family-owned and fully-booked inn along a lonely North Carolina highway on Saturday, driving customers away during the peak tourist season.

In response, the rangers blocked the inn with patrol cars and told customers and told customers who had booked reservations months in advance that the “government was closed,” according to USAToday. They also forced 35 of O’Connell’s 100 employees out of their homes and off the federally-leased lands.

“It’s about the visitors. It’s about the staff and employees who are now having to move off the mountain — they live here — with no notice. They have no jobs. That’s the concern,” said O’Connell of his newly homeless, jobless workers.

Obama’s new jobs program in action – end update

When Obama evicted an elderly couple from the home of 40 years on Lake Mead  – where is the damn outrage? Why is this  not on TV 24 by 7?

Even Faux News is barely covering these stories, and so balanced the stories are bland. Where is the GOP PR Media Machine? Was it Shutdown too? Stop playing nice and start playing to win.

Update: And pretending to close down web pages like the Amber Alert page (when we all know the servers and SW are still operating with support)?

Instead of showing critical missing children bulletins, the federal Amber Alert website on Sunday displayed a sparse, white screen with a simple message: It’s a victim of the government shutdown.

The website normally displays urgent alerts from across the nation about the most at-risk missing children, helping to connect citizens and law enforcement across all participating jurisdictions.

BS! The victims are the children abducted (and I guess now would be a good time if had such evil intentions). Funding for the public safety IS ALLOWED under the rules of the shutdown. BTW, that news article is from NBC.

Come on GOP, get your PR game on!

Obama Evicts Senior Citizens, Barrycades Their Home Of 40 Years

Update: Really, they eBarrycaded the Amber Alert? Where is the rule on funding for essential services having to do with public safety? Whoever is making these fund/not fund decisions is neurotic and capricious. – end update

One thing is for sure, the National Park Service is going to need a complete shakeup and house cleanning when this Shutdown Theater is over. And the head of NPS should be brought up on numerous charges.

Especially after this outrages story:

The government shutdown is being felt close to home for some locals. They say they’re being forced out of private homes on Lake Mead because they sit on federal land.

“I had to go to town today and buy Ralph undershirts and jeans because I forgot his pants,” Joyce Spencer told Action News.

Unconstitutional, illegal AND Un-American!

I guess now I can honestly trot out the Nazi analogies, since this Gestapo tactic stinks of fascist oppression.

NPS director – you must resign and face charges.

Obama/Reid – pass the House bill funding the NPS (so the investigations can begin). Then you too should resign – in shame.

BTW – Isn’t this Harry Reid’s Home State?

Update: More here:

People are being forced out of their own homes on Lake Mead and prevented from returning until the government shutdown ends because they sit on federal land, even though the homes are privately owned.

“Unfortunately overnight stays are not permitted until a budget is passed and the park can reopen,” officials said in a statement.

There is NO legal justification for this. None.

More here:

Bob Hitchcock is in his “least favorite place” these days — inside his landlocked Las Vegas home instead of at his cabin on the North Shore of Lake Mead, tooling around with old engines in his garage.

He’s one of an estimated 60 families with vacation homes along the lake who were given notice by the National Park Service earlier this week to gather their stuff and leave, according to Christie Vanover, a spokeswoman for the Lake Mead Recreational Area.

The homes — from Stewart’s Point on the north to Katherine’s Landing and Temple Bar on the south — sit on federal land.

As a result, the federal government shutdown left Hitchcock just 24 hours to evacuate his two-bedroom, two bath cabin in Stewart’s Point, about 70 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

This seems to be appropriate as well:

IPCC with “High Confidence” Calls Off Climate Armageddon

Published by under Global Warming

[click for some wonderful desk top images]

While the latest IPCC PR is hyping the fraction of a degree of warming over the last 100 years (as if we could measure the global average temperature to a fraction of a degree 100 years ago, back before everyone had electricity, indoor plumbing and cars), in a little advertised section of the latest report we learn the “IPCC science” has determined there is no chance of massive droughts, forest die offs, ice sheet collapsing or explosive release or methane.

Apparently, Climate Armageddon has been scientifically called off.

Check out how one attendee to this unknown IPCC announcement reacted:

Throughout the day though, having read through the SPM a third time, and taken in more layers of official IPCC positions I became increasingly conscious of the greatly diminshed role of feedbacks. I checked through the SPM one more time, looking at each reference to “feedback”. No I wasn’t imagining it, it is very muted. Suddenly the focus of almost every presentation on predictions for the year 2100 made more sense. We’d previously been promised fire and brimstone long before that. The IPCC it seems, was actually climbing down from this position, though I didn’t quite grasp how profoundly until the final talk by Matt Collins on ‘What is the chance of abrupt or irreversible changes?’

Matt Collins began his talk disarmingly by saying that it could well have been very short – he could have just got up on stage and said “we don’t know”. I’m glad he didn’t because otherwise I would not have been made aware of Table 12.4 in the draft report. It lists all of the catastrophic scenarios that many of us have become used to hearing wailed over by the media and associated directly with the notion of “strong positive feedbacks”. Collins showed us the table and went through the details of two of the entries as examples of just how uncertain this area was (go to original article to click image for full size).

What? Yes that’s right. The real story may not be in the IPCC rowback on temperature ranges, or its cack-handed “explanations” for the stalling temperatures. It may in fact all be in this table. Be sure to look for yourself. Every single catastrophic scenario bar one has a rating of “Very unlikely” or “Exceptionally unlikely” and/or has “low confidence”. The only disaster scenario that the IPCC consider at all likely in the possible lifetimes of many of us alive now is “Disappearance of Arctic summer sea ice”, which itself has a ‘likely’ rating and liable to occur by mid century with medium confidence. As the litany of climate disasters go, that’s it.

I find this quite stunning. Even if the Earth warmed since the Little Ice Age, and even if humans activity drove some or much of the recent warming, the end result is …

Not much!

Which makes total sense, since nature experiences more warming in 20 minutes every morning and evening than the Earth has warmed in a century (on average), and seasonal temperature swings are in the tens of degrees, not tenth’s of a degree. One is, therefore, not surprised to learn all this drama is much ado about nothing.

The IPCC now has formally admitted as much. I wonder what this revela1tion will do to Carbon Futures and government plans to control CO2? Scientifically, there is no need for these things anymore. The IPCC says so!

Illegal Seizures And Blockades By Obama Destroying Private Companies & Jobs

Published by under All General Discussions

Another Major Update: Please recall spending during this partial government shutdown IS allowed (and required) to ensure human safety. Therefore no decision to stop services can inflict pain, suffering or danger (like the NPS decision not to pick up trash). Well there are now plenty of examples of where spending should have been maintained and was not – obviously to create suffering and left wing political theater:

Kids with cancer: 30 children who were supposed to be admitted for cancer treatment at the National Institute of Health’s clinical center were put on hold, along with 170 adults.

Head Start kids: When a new grant didn’t come in, Bridgeport, Connecticut, closed 13 Head Start facilities serving 1,000 kids. Calhoun County, Alabama, shut down its Head Start program, which serves 800 kids. Some were relocated to a local church.

Pregnant women: Several states had promised to pick up the tab if the US Department of Agriculture stopped funding the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)—but not Arkansas, where 85,000 meals will no longer be provided to low income women and their children.

Babies: 2,000 newborn babies won’t receive baby formula in Arkansas, due to those WIC cuts.

Withholding baby formula? Are these Obama-bots insane? If these are true (and I doubt they are since the article claims the GOP stopped the funding, which it did not) then someone needs to be investigated. You cannot withhold critical services – end. of. story.

Now also recall the US borrows almost half the money it spends each and every year – so operating on credit like this is not new or shocking. The government cannot cover half its spending every day of the year. So obviously these Obama administration decisions on where to draw the line in spending under the “shutdown” (and it is all in the administration to make those decisions for the 80% of the government still operating) is the responsibility of the administration. Not the GOP.

BTW, Here is a very damning article on how team Obama has screwed up with their Shutdown Theater:

Then again, ridiculous is perhaps too generous a word. Closing the monuments, especially the World War II Memorial, can be reduced, fittingly, to a single syllable: Dumb.

Can there be an image more inspiring than members of this venerable club, whose living roll declines each day by about 640, pushing their way through flimsy, useless, pointless barriers to roam among pillars erected to their heroism? What was Washington thinking?

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

President Barack Obama, whose grandfather was a World War II veteran, might have known better. We may have to close down the government, he could have said, but don’t touch the monuments.

Instead, the Office of Management and Budget ordered the barricades.

That’ll show ’em.

Major Update: This just in, His Petulantcy, Barry I, has decided who won’t be stopping the rise of the oceans, instead he is closing the ocean due to the shutdown:

Just before the weekend, the National Park Service informed charter boat captains in Florida that the Florida Bay was “closed” due to the shutdown. Until government funding is restored, the fishing boats are prohibited from taking anglers into 1,100 square-miles of open ocean. Fishing is also prohibited at Biscayne National Park during the shutdown.

The Park Service will also have rangers on duty to police the ban. Of access to an ocean. The government will probably use more personnel and spend more resources to attempt to close the ocean, than it would in its normal course of business.

This is governing by temper-tantrum.

Yeah, this is political genius through and through!  – end update

We all knew Obama was not the most experienced person to lead a nation like America. But his character flaws seems to expand day-by-day as he falls into Imperial Petulance with the shutdown, over stepping his legal bounds time after time.

The Barry-cading of the open air, public monuments on The Mall in DC is not required by the shutdown, and is in fact an illegal expenditure of tax payer money during this time. It is a pathetic political stunt.

There is no budget line item or law to allow Obama to commandeer play grounds, spending taxpayer money to Barry-cade and guard Tot Lots from toddlers [image from Washington Post Article, click image for link]:

This is not legal expenditure under the rules of a government partial shutdown.

Nor is it legal to commandeer the graves of our nation’s fallen heroes, and Barry-cade them from friends, families and others wishing to honor their sacrifices.

Who appointed Obama owner of these national treasures? Just because the government is not fully funded DOES NOT mean Obama gets to close public lands and wall them off from the people who paid for them in the first place! His Petulantcy, Obama I, needs to realize he his a temporary hire, to do a job for We The People. He cannot restrict our God given human rights.

Freedom of religion includes being able to pray at grave sites – obviously! And you do not have to be a blood relative to pray at a grave site. President Obama, in ordering the closure of cemeteries, has violated the constitutional rights of hundreds, if not thousands.

The Obama administration is even threatening priests who plan to serve our military personnel on Sunday:

In a stunning development, some military priests are facing arrest if they celebrate mass or practice their faith on military bases during the federal government shutdown.

Really? This is our government’s role in society – punish those trying to worship their God?

If stealing playgrounds from children, Barrycading the hollowed ground of our heroes from prayer and threatening priests is not enough, Barry I has developed a whole new plan for jobs in America:

Destroy them!

The City Tavern located in Old City Philadelphia was the favorite meeting place of many of our Founding Fathers. Today, it employs 100 cooks, wait staff and hosts that provide a unique experience of 18th Century America to thousands of clientele every week. The restaurant is privately owned and operates completely on its own profits … The City Tavern remained open through previous government shutdowns so restaurant public relations director Molly Yun was caught off guard on Thursday:  “We were somewhat shocked when we received the news today that we would have to close at 3 p.m.” Many people are now out of work and the Federal Government loses a source of income which it desperately needs.

Destroy them!

Bruce O’Connell knew what would happen with the government shutdown. As the owner of an inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina, he received a notice about the shutdown procedures that would occur last week — and he’s been through it before.

This time though, he has rangers barring cars from entering his parking lot.

…he decided to reopen again today at 11:30 a.m.

“Guests started streaming in,” he said.

But by 12:30 p.m. a ranger was on the scene, red lights flashing, blocking the Pisgah Inn’s parking lot and turning people away.

Note that the main road is open – even though it is a federal highway.  This action is against a business OFF THE ROAD who is staying open and believes the landlord (Obama’s NPS) has not legal right to shutdown his business. And he is right. Which means we tax payers will have to pay the penalties Obama is incurring.

Destroy them!

Today, he sent a letter to both of his senators, John McCain and Jeff Flake, asking for help to keep his parks open.

“My company, based in North Phoenix, operates nearly over 100 US Forest Service campgrounds and day use areas under concession contract. Yesterday, as in all past government shutdowns, the Department of Agriculture and US Forest Service confirmed we would stay open during the government shutdown. This makes total sense, since our operations are self-sufficient (we are fully funded by user fees at the gate), we get no federal funds, we employ no government workers on these sites, and we actually pay rent into the Treasury.”

However, today, we have been told by senior member of the US Forest Service and Department of Agriculture that people “above the department”, which I presume means the White House, plan to order the Forest Service to needlessly and illegally close all private operations. I can only assume their intention is to artificially increase the cost of the shutdown as some sort of political ploy.

Destroy them!

We are critical of the National Park Service because we think they have closed us down illegally according to the terms of the agreement we signed with them in 1981. The agreement states that we will operate the Farm and open it to the public and the only thing they will provide is police protection if needed. Many years ago, we decided that calling the Fairfax County Police if needed (they have joint jurisdiction) worked better for our situation. And because of our proximity to the Central Intelligence Agency, we have probably the best security on earth. The CIA has also treated us with great decency and respect and we value them highly as our neighbors.

The reason that it is so important that we remain open is because of the income we receive from Pavilion rentals, admissions, sales and program fees. We have had to cancel every event at the Farm this week so we have already lost more than $15,000 in operating income because October is the busiest month of the year for us. When the Federal government reopens, as it inevitably will, they will be funded by all of us. The Farm may never reopen again if we cannot open soon because we don’t have any other source of revenue except that which we earn for ourselves.

There are even more stories than these, now coming out across this country. Including admissions by the National Park Service they have been ordered to make life as miserable as possible for people!

How does that jive with the oath of office these people took? Is Obama protecting our constitutional rights or trampling them?

To my eyes the answer is clear.

I watched Special Report on Fox News last night and was dumbfounded to see the entire panel surrender the shutdown to Obama. Needless to say I won’t be tuning into that show again.

It is ludicrous to be four days in to a political stand off and surrender like this. Besides, Obama is not winning. He is giving the GOP in the House endless – needed – investigations into how these clearly illegal acts by our government happened, and who is going to jail for them.

Gallup has the truth of the political situation (Obama down to 41% and dropping), and everyone in DC is losing political capitol. But only one side is standing on the side of right – and that is not the Dems and their out of control President. The GOP will in the end come out ahead – if for nothing else to investigate and undo Obama’s actions.

Does anyone think this nation will allow another Democrat anywhere NEAR the White House after these acts? I think not.

BTW: Loved this picture I saw on twitter capturing the essence of the Greatest Generation – then and now:

Cold Hearted Dems Relying On GOP Campassion For Americans To Win Shutdown

You have to wonder how cold the Democrats are when it comes to the “huddled masses”.

Especially when you see crap like this:

Senior admin official admits: We’re winning so it doesn’t matter to us when the shutdown ends

The reality is clear to everyone, but no good can come from formal acknowledgment.

Says Sam Stein of HuffPo, “Obviously, polling data would support this contention and certainly, from the conversations I’ve had with senior administration officials, the White House feels that it has the upper hand. But to say you don’t care how long the shutdown lasts is to suggest that the impact it’s having throughout the country isn’t factoring into your strategic thinking.”

Why, yes. It does suggest that, doesn’t it?

Terry Holt, a longtime Republican strategist, said Mr. Obama’s strategy rests on a cold-eyed calculation that Republicans are the ones with the most to lose. “As long as the president thinks his poll numbers are going to be good, I don’t expect the government to reopen,” he said.

See, the GOP might fold because they are sick of seeing the carnage, but they won’t because they are worried about polls (that damage is done, and if that was the case they would not have gone this far). All this makes ‘cold-eye’ Obama really happy – because he could give a sh*t about the personal carnage!

He does not care if kids are Barrycaded from the playgrounds – they are winning you see!

Blame All Around For Shutdown Theater!

Well, looks like the Democrats are NOT escaping the wrath of the voters after all!

Americans disapprove of how both sides are handling the budget negotiations, but more disapprove of congressional Republicans (72 percent) than President Obama and the Democrats in Congress (61 percent).

Much of the GOP disapproval includes their own supporters – which will NOT effect how they vote next year. But when 60+ percent of the country dislikes your Shutdown and your BarryCades, that is a lose-lose position.

The GOP has another edge – the second midterm blues. This fiasco is driven by Dem obsession with Tea Partiers and having to compromise. It has the left maniacally stubborn. Their anger is obvious – which means they are reacting emotionally. They know they go into 2014 handicapped even in the best of times. Second term midterm elections always pound the party in the White House. Always!

The people will realize DC leadership (which is Democrats) will be given the biggest blame for falling into this mess in the first place. NOTHING is so Holy it has to come to this  – even Obamacare.

GOP needs to win something out of all this. They paid the price, now make sure you get something worthwhile the cost.

BarryCade Smoking Gun

As I suspected, the oppressive Barrycading of America by His Petulancy, Barry I has begun to unravel as those directed to carry out these unconstitutional orders start to expose the crimes being committed. Here is one example of the NPS shuttering private businesses AND forcing them to pay for the BarryCades!

Mr. Meyer emails to add that not only is his business being forced to take losses for the closures, but in some cases the government is making him and the other park management companies buy the barricades that will be used to shut the parks. He says:

We are like prisoners of war who have to pay for our prison.

The point of the shutdown is to close non-essential operations that require Federal money and manpower to stay open. So why is the White House closing private operations that require no government money to keep open and actually pay a percentage of their gate revenues back to the Treasury? We are a tenant of the US Forest Service, and a tenant does not have to close his business just because his landlord goes on a vacation.

Hat Tip to Bryan Preston at PJ Media. We need to find as many of these illegal confiscations and orders as possible so the GOP can use them as evidence against the Tyranny of Barry I and his BarryCades

Update: Once you read the above link, where the local NPS had initially agreed to let the businesses stay open only to be overruled by the White House, then this report on the Congressional investigations makes sense:

The Republican lawmakers said their distrust of the closures stemmed from information the committee uncovered in March as sequestration cuts went into effect, and they accused NPS of making budgetary decisions “designed to intentionally cause the most disruption to the public in a time of reduced funding.”

“Information presented to the Committee suggested budget adjustments resulting in obvious hardship or displeasure for the public were chosen in lieu of more prudent measures. Specifically, the Committee received information that proposed budget adjustments submitted by an NPS official in the field to deal with sequestration impacts were rejected by NPS superiors in favor of cuts that would be more visible and disruptive,” the lawmakers wrote.

Looks like the White House and OMB did it again, overruling reasonable local decisions  to maximize headlines. Now, the kind of headlines these oppressive and unconstitutional acts will garner will not be what “the idiot ordering goons” wanted. But it will make headlines!
