Terrorism Dots, Dots, Dots

Anyone not see a pattern here?  First, Najibullah Zazi is indicted in a WMD bomb plot in New York regarding a conspiracy to execute another 9-11 on this nation in line to the London and Madrid bombings.

Then the FBI arrests a man in Illinois in an attempt to bomb a federal building:

An Illinois man was ordered held on Thursday on charges he tried to blow up a federal building in the state capital, a case unrelated to the New York terrorism plot.

Michael Finton, also known as Talib Islam, was arrested in Springfield, Illinois, and charged with attempted murder of federal officers or employees and trying to use a weapon of mass destruction, charges that carry a life sentence.

“Fortunately, a coordinated undercover law enforcement effort was able to thwart his efforts and ensure no one was harmed,” David Kris, assistant Attorney General for National Security, said in a statement.

And now the FBI arrested another man in Dallas for, of course, attempting to bomb a building:

Federal prosecutors say they’ve arrested a 19-year-old Jordanian national and charged him with trying to bomb a downtown Dallas skyscraper.
According to a statement issued Thursday by the U.S. attorney’s office in Dallas, Hosam Maher Husein Smadi is charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction.
He was arrested Thursday after placing a decoy car bomb at Fountain Place, a 60-story glass office tower.

Both thwarted bombings used decoy bombs provided by FBI undercover agents. The people arrested appear to have been under investigation for months at least. Hopefully these are the results of law enforcement rolling up the conspirators.

Is this really the time for the White House to allow a witch hunt against those defending this nation from attack.

the details of this suicide bomber defy words:

(I feel very guilty for laughing at any suicide bomber story, but I just couldn’t help myself)

  3. The Dallas attempted bomber was an illegal immigrant working at a gas station in Italy. Texas.

Given the number of times my wife and I have stopped there with a screaming baby/toddler. It is quite possible that I have been to this guy’s gas station while he was working.

Trent, didn’t know you were near Italy. I’ve got a good friend who’s going to spend the weekend in Ennis photographing the NHRA fall Nationals, wish I could be there with him!

  5. WWS,

I commute between Dallas & Houston 1-2 times a month and Italy is where the car-nap wears off for daughter #1.
