Major Taliban Figure Killed

Published by at 10:26 am under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT

A top Taliban leader close to Osama Bin Laden and Mullah Omar was killed in a US air strike this past week, which is another indication that, contrary to he media and the liberal Chicken Littles, we are still making a lot of progress against the terrorists:

U.S. forces said on Saturday they had killed the Taliban’s military chief in southern Afghanistan, who had close links to Osama bin Laden and was heir to the rebel leadership.

Akhtar Mohammad Osmani was the most most senior leader killed yet and was targeted in a region where the insurgency is at its bloodiest, a military spokesman said. The Taliban denied he was dead.

Our ability to target and take out key terrorist leaders is improving. I would suspect that Zawahiri and Omar are beginning to feel the pressure, given this attack was so close to where they supposedly are hiding out. If it was a targetted attack knowing full well who the person was, then there must be a reason not to follow the path this guy left anymore.

The alternative explanation is this is one of the 900 or so Taliban the Canadians in Afghanistan have surrounded. Maybe he tried to sneak away instead of fighting for Allah. BTW, the US Congress could learn a lesson from Canadian Prime Minister Harper:

Prime Minister Stephen Harper remained steadfast in his defence of military operations in Afghanistan yesterday.

Mr. Harper told a Calgary-based radio program the United Nations and the entire international community want Canadian troops in the war-torn country.

And he said the soldiers still believe in the mission. “If they’re willing to take the real bullets, we can take the rhetorical bullets back here at home,” Mr. Harper said.

Suddenly Canada is more prepared to defend freedom than the Democratic led Congress. They attack and we look for surrender. What a sad development when the more French country in North America is the US.

Are you sure Harper isn’t the Canadian Blair, ignoring the wishes of the dominant majority of hus subjects? And are you the alter ego
of For Enforcement with your French references? Have both of you ever been spotted in the same place at once?

At any rate you should’t be so envious of France not taking their
unfair share of the app. 2900 killed thus far….

I would think this guy was in close contact with Zawahiri maybe even holed up with him. I really think Bin Laden is dead and has been for some time. The “terms of surrender” offered to us might have a splash of panic in them if we are this close to capturing the Al Quaeda leaders. The terrain they are fighting on is the difficulty otherwise we would probably bomb them with force and clean the area out.

You must be driving For Enforcement battier than he usually is by your regular misspelling of Al Qaeda (alt. Al Qaida), Barb.

I believe the stance of the Canadians is because they have come to see the situation for what it is and what it is not. It is not about US domestic politics and it *is* about the vrey concept of rule of law and democracy under attack from people who would replace legislatures with councils of mullahs and replace laws created by the community with religious law interpreted by those mullahs.

    For example:

Read the latest news from Thailand. Thailand is mostly Buddhist, one of the most peaceful religions there is. The muslims are now killing people and destroying property there. We are not nor have we been involved in Thailand’s domestic politics. The activities there have nothing to do with George Bush.

The people doing this in the name of the Muslim religion are simply using the religion’s traditions to install themselves as dictators. They are evil and if they continue down this line, it will not be long before they end up destroying the very religion they would try to promote.

  5. For Enforcement says:

Ken, lost in French/English translation, I guess. al Qaeda has several correct spellings, as does all those Moslem/Muslim words. Completely interchangeable as in liberal=Ken=jew hater=American Hater.
UBL=OBL, etc. Just depends on if you are translating the French or American versions. We understand your confusion.
This guy that got killed, was that a personal loss for you? I know you hate for things to go wrong with your insurgent terrorist buddies, but personally, I’m happy for all of them to get blown to hell.

Keep working on your translations and get back to your cage as soon as possible, your rabies shot is waiting.

FE , hygiene-(yours) might have prevented the French strumpet from rejecting your American dollars and catapulting you into a pathological Francophobia. France insists on not losing in Iraq along with America.

US murder rate several times higher than the object of For Enforcement’s senile, demented scorn.
