Merry Christmas

Published by at 11:09 am under All General Discussions

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and I hope their day will be filled with the cheer and warmth of family and friends. I want to thank everyone who takes time out of their busy days to come by and read my ramblings and share their thoughts and take part in the great debates of our day. Thanks to all of you we have a lot to be thankful for. Best wishes to all.

Some More Thoughts: I have been terribly remiss in thanking the most important group of people this country is indebted to. I wish to thank all those who serve this country to protect us and who sacrfice every day for the people of this country. To our military serving and fighting in foreign lands across this Earth, to our first responders here at home who tirelessly (and without enough positive recognition) do all the things that need to be done day in and day out to be ready to jump into action, to the thousands of those who silently (and without any recongition) monitor our defenses and watch our enemies to detect their plans, I say thank you. We have all of you to thank for whatever peace and time with our families we have this Holiday season. I know you are out there this Christmas morning, and our prayers are with you!

I don’t wish to be a downer here , but I wish to salute my mother who in her last days did not want to die on Christmas to taint that day for all the family.

She gave up her fight the next day.

God bless her and I hope she rests well.

Thanks for the Christmas greetings, Retired Spook! AJ, as always, a BIG thanks for all you do in keeping us informed.

Merlin, sorry about your mom. I lost my dad a year ago just before Christmas and his funeral was on my birthday, so I know exactly how that feels. Anyway, I hope you and your family have a peaceful holiday now in remembrance of your mom.

I’m going to watch a corny old western in honor of my dad and laugh myself sick over how all the cowboys all look like they’re wearing makeup and nobody can hit the broad side of a barn with two fully-loaded six guns! The last phone call I made to him was to tease him about Army losing the Army-Navy game (I’m a Navy vet, he’s a WWII Army vet). Less than five days later, he was gone. Merry Christmas, Dad! I remember you with love!

    Anyway, Merry Christmas all!

    Carol Johnson

I’ve enjoyed reading all the posts and comments here the past month. Sounds like most of you have things of worth to say; not just drivel or empty words. You think things through, and you’ve made me think.

    AJ,
I LOVE the picture of the tree. Having spent the last hour trying to find it on the site where you got it, would you mind posting the URL where I can download it? Appreciate it much.

Keep up the good work with sharing your thoughts. I’m glad you are a member of the PajamaMedia.

God bless you; and I salute your Mom too. She must have been a woman of great character.

A salute to all of the loved ones who are no longer here with us. Holidays are hard without them.

A hearty thanks to AJ for this enlightening blog and wishes for a Happy New Year!
