Incoming!

Published by at 11:00 am under All General Discussions

The amazing video Drudge has up of something burning up as it enters our atmosphere over Denver is amazing (here and here). One thing I can tell you is it was not small. To burn for that long means it was not small when it first entered our atmosphere. I looked to be the size of a communications satellite or something. Typically they try and de-orbit these things over the ocean, but mother nature decides when it is time for things to fall back to earth. An announcement is due out later today.

To be honest, communications satellites don’t worry me as much as 99942 Apophis does.

North/South trajectory … probably a spy satellite as those are generally in polar orbits.

    CP,

I was wondering what orbit it was in. Polar orbit would mean a satellite most likely.

I had already read the story on Drudge about the object hitting the house in Jersey. Sounds like that same rocket debris. You would think Drudge would ref that or those people in Jersey could figure it out.

  5. crosspatch says:

Norad says it was a Russian booster.

I don’t think the piece that hit in NJ house is related, but it could be. It looked like a metallic meteorite to me.

But, Tuesday night and Thursday morning don’t add up. The rock hit the house Tues night. Maybe I should read those minor details a little closer sometimes.
Well,, if we’re lucky the fireworks display over Denver might have been the flame out of the Dems planned big show.
