Al Qaeda Has WMD And Using Them In Iraq

Published by at 12:30 am under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT,Iraq

Reader Crosspatch noted that terrorist group (I am sure is linked to Al Qaeda) has launched chemical weapons on American soldiers in Iraq.

The Salahaldin Al-Ayoubi Brigades, the military wing of JAMI, Al Jabha Al-Islamiyya l’il-Muqawama Al-‘Iraqiyya, announced via Islamist websites that today, January 10, 2007, it had fired four missiles loaded with chemicals at a U.S. base near Samara, Iraq. The organization posted a film showing militants wearing gas masks and filling the missiles with a liquid which the organization claims are chemicals.

Images and the video link at the site. This is not surprising. Al Qaeda needs to apply pressure on the Dems to surrender faster. But this will backfire. Because if we surrender Iraq, Al Qaeda will have a base of operations to launch these attacks against the west – and they will do it. America has just seen how serious the stakes are and why failure is not an option. Wonder who supplied the WMD? Was it Iran, Syria or leftovers from Saddam?

Should have known, Rusty Shackleford had this news 6 hours ago. So why was this not part of the pre-speech news? Obvious answer – would ruin the liberal dem-media propaganda effort.

The thing is you can’t believe anything those people put out. It could be chocolate syrup for all we know. They are desparate and they want to play the media to the fullest extent possible. I am hoping this is just bull designed to cause an emotional reaction from us. If it really happened and it was really chemical, it is pretty much GAME OVER for those people.

Should have known. I saw it on Rantburg.

  3. Of course it’s ‘chemicals’. Water is a chemical, too. It’s either an attempt at IO or a deathwish. Not that a deathwish is necessarily an original thought among the jihadiyun.

If there had been a chemical attack on a US base – anywhere – it would not go unreported because the emergence of MOPP-4 on site cannot be kept secret. Too many personel in a major event to keep total radio silence, which is what would have been necessary to hear this from the terrorists first.

The threat is real, this claim is not.

I’ll probe around and see what I can dig up from sources.

Regardless of whether these weapons are really dangerous chemicals (as opposed to a disinformation campaign) and regardless of their origin, this is a propaganda coup for the US — providing stark evidence from their own hands that the terrorists believe in the use of WMD. There can be no better case that the terrorists utter extermination is necessary.

If the WMD are phony, it shows them as exceptionally dangerous wannabees who cannot be allowed to get them.

If the WMD are real, and from Saddam’s stock – well, Bush didn’t lie.

If the WMD are real, and from Syria, it is a good reason to take Assad out, which would not be a particularly difficult task.

If the WMD are real, and from Iran, it would give us an unimpeachable causus belli to give the Iranians an ultimatum of the immediate and total surrender of their WMD and verifiable destruction of their nuclear program, or suffer the overwhelming use by the US of WMD to destroy them.

A “little WMD use” is like being a little pregnant.

Well let’s wait and see if it is real before we wonder why it was not on TV. Might be propaganda from the terrorists. After all they call them t-e-r-r-o-r–ists for a reason.

In case everyone has forgotten, we found over 500 old stale chemical weapon munitions that are not 100% effective any more.

Word has it we know where a whole bunch beyond that number is located, but we don’t want to draw attention to them, because they would make some nasty IED’s.

Some of the Bathists still may know where they are and be saving them for now.

Amazing how much stuff you can bury in thousands of miles of desert.

There are bunkers we still haven’t found after all this time, that we have documents that talk about but don’t give specific locations.

    Lots of food for thought.

Only the naive, ignorant, lazy, or delusional, or simple morons, really believe he didn’t have WMDs. It was buried in sand, dumped in rivers, moved to Syria & elsewhere, or used, and some was found.
