Denmark Busts Terror Cell

Published by at 7:22 am under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT

al-Qaeda is going to come after the west, win or lose in Iraq. That is evidenced by the number of attacks we in the West keep foiling. Case in point: the latest terrorist cell to be discovered in Denmark:

The director general of the Danish intelligence service PET, Jakob Scharf, said the arrests near Copenhagen had “prevented a terrorist attack.”

“We would describe the main suspects as militant Islamists with international contacts, including leading members of Al-Qaeda,” Scharf told a press conference.

“We made our move now because we had gathered enough evidence to make an arrest, and because several of the suspects had created an unstable explosive in a densely populated housing area,” he said.

If we seriously cripple al-Qaeda in Iraq, making them a outcast from Muslim society as they are now in Iraq, their ability to hit us will be greatly reduced because they will not have a safe haven from which to plan and plot from. The last thing we need to do right now is hand over Iraq to al-Qaeda so they can leverage all their resources and people, multiplying their effectiveness to attack us. Remember, they want us to retaliate and kill them and their fellow Muslims. That is their path to heaven. We cannot deter these people – we must annihilate them.

Speaking of terror cells: Dick Cheney seems to be operating one right out of the West Wing. Terrorist-in-chief: David Addington

In the fall of 2003, Jack L. Goldsmith established himself, with John Yoo, as a leading proponent of the view that international standards of human rights should not apply in cases before U.S. courts. He was named to head the Office of Legal Counsel, the division of the Justice Department that advises the president on the limits of executive power.

Nine months later, in June 2004, Goldsmith resigned after discovering the Office of Legal Counsel had written two legal opinions , now known as the “torture memos”, that were without legal basis, and violative of the Constitution and FISA.

When he tried to explain his viewpoint to Addington, Cheney’s smug and arrogant sockpuppet, Addington replied:

“We’re one bomb away from getting rid of that obnoxious [FISA] court.”

Yoo and Addington’s goal all along was to “get rid of the obnoxious FISA court” entirely, so that they could freely eavesdrop on whomever they wanted with no warrants or oversight of any kind. And here is Dick Cheney’s top aide, drooling with anticipation at the prospect of another terrorist attack so that they could seize this power without challenge.

That’s the kind of lawless traitors that populate the Bush Administration.

Nope, unconvinced. You’re making stuff up. There are no lawless traitors that populate the Bush administration.

And there won’t be a “Bush Legacy” like the “Clinton Legacy” website after Bush leaves the office.
