Another Coordinated PR Hit On Palin – And Red Necks!
To over use a Jeff Foxworthy phrase, but “I are one”. Too many urbanites think being out in the country is akin to being down a few IQ points. Funny thing is (especially here in the south) those country drawls you here are a great IQ filter in themselves. Anyone who thinks a slow southern drawl indicates a slow mind pretty much tips their hand in the first few second of discourse (and I don’t mean ‘this course’).
It seems someone is sending out a chain email purported to be from a local Alaskan smearing Palin. Â Some juvenile snippets:
As an Alaskan, I am writing to give all of you some information on Sarah Palin, Senator McCain’s choice for VP. As an Alaska voter, I know more than most of you about her and, frankly, I am horrified that he picked her.
The most accurate description of her is red neck.
…
Prior to her one year as governor of Alaska, she was mayor of Wasilla, a small red neck town outside Anchorage.
…
Unfortunately, I have to go to Wasilla every week to get groceries and other supplies, so I have continual contact with the people who put Palin in office in the first place. I know what I’m talking about.
So Obama’s brave new world has come down to this? Smears, smears and more smears so he can tax, surrender, tax and surrender. Reader Bob Sunshine noted an article in a UK paper that summed up what is wrong with Obama and his current rush to the gutter with the rest of the dems. Here is the essence of this race and while I remain optimistic:
For what started out as a contest between Barack Obama and John McCain has, instead, become a fight between Obama and Palin – at least for now.
…
Everywhere I went in Washington – to the hairdressers, to an ice-hockey rink, in restaurants and bars – the talk was all about Sarah Palin.
At one stage, CNN even devoted two hours of its live news coverage to pictures of an empty airport runway in Alaska, where Palin was due to arrive ‘any time soon’.
It’s the same story with the print media. Not since Princess Diana’s death can I recall ever walking into a newsagent and seeing just one woman’s face staring out from every cover.
…
Moreover, while Obama appears to have been on a lifelong search for his identity, Palin has never wondered who she was or where she was from.
…
And while the East Coast intellectuals may sneer at her homespun ideology and lack of experience, these are the very credentials that are attracting an increasing number of middle Americans.
In Palin they see optimism; in Obama cynicism. In Palin they see pride in her country; in Obama an element of shame.Â
It is heart versus head, instinct versus intellect; certainty versus hand-wringing; straight-forwardness versus sophistication.
…
As one senior McCain spokesman explained: ‘She is the embodiment of the American dream, the small-town girl who rises to the very top, doesn’t sacrifice her family or her values along the way, takes on the big guys and wins.
Its plans for a brighter future verses the usual smear merchants. The more mud the left throws, the more Americans see a need to send in Sarah Palin and John McCain to clean the place up.Â
What was your expectation for a Chicago thug politician?
