Now An Obama Campaign Memo Signals Tightening Race
Yesterday we saw a McCain campaign memo that claimed the race was tightening quickly and McCain-Palin have a good shot next week. Now an Obama campaign memo confirms (to some degree) the McCain memo:
In a phone interview with FOX News, Barack Obama’s deputy campaign manager, Steve Hildebrand said: “John McCain is right. Things are tightening in the battleground states.â€
…
Hildebrand told FOX News he sent the memo out to boost efforts in Florida but that similar memos were also sent out seeking help in North Carolina, Georgia and Ohio. He said needs were less acute in Pennsylvania.
Hildebrand said the campaign disregards current state polls showing Obama ahead.
Interesting. The memo is for Florida but went out to a lot for a lot of states because the Obama GOTV needs some immediate help. H/T Jim Geraghty and Obi-wan Kenobi
When does the nightly bi-poller report issued. Currently it is 4:30pm eastern. Last night I observed that the Hotline poll was in the traditional bucket but had the highest spread of 8%. Does anyone know how to look at their internals and questions. They only publish very little detail info.
I general, during the primaries, what Obama had in the polls he got, the rest went to the other candidate. If you recall, Obama did not win many of the last 25 or so primaries.
maybe, but these guys have a hundred million in the bank ans still ask for money, it doens’t hurt them to put a little scare into their supporters, even at the expense of reminding the right they can win, which we can.
Mark N,
The Bi-Poller has to wait for all the polls to come out! It is always the ABC/WaPo that comes out last. We have dinner plans for some birthdays so it may be late if this poll doesn’t come out in time.
