Dec 28 2009
I think the American people have had a serious wake up call with the specter of a Christmas Day Massacre in the skies over Detroit. I, like countless other Americans, was flying with my entire family around this holiday season, and the idea that we could have all perished as a result of the incompetence and denial displayed by the Obama administration has seriously shaken my confidence that America will remain safe for another year.
The suicidal response from the head of Homeland Security, and the decision to treat this latest Holy War incident as nothing but a civil crime, has exposed the fact that the liberal ideals for security rely on prosecuting the killers after their heinous deed is done, instead of waging a preemptive war on our enemies. The WSJ explains it well today:
Brian Jenkins, who studies terrorism for the Rand Corporation, says there were more terror incidents (12), including thwarted plots, on U.S. soil in 2009 than in any year since 2001.
This increasing terror tempo makes the Obama Administration’s reflexive impulse to treat terrorists like routine criminal suspects all the more worrisome. It immediately indicted Mr. Abdulmutallab on criminal charges of trying to destroy an aircraft, despite reports that he told officials he had ties to al Qaeda and had picked up his PETN explosive in Yemen. The charges mean the Nigerian can only be interrogated like any other defendant in a criminal case, subject to having a lawyer present and his Miranda rights read.
Yet he is precisely the kind of illegal enemy combatant who should be interrogated first with the goal of preventing future attacks and learning more about terror networks rather than gaining a single conviction. We now have to hope he cooperates voluntarily.
This is the same ineptitude that was on display with the Ft Hood Massacre by an American Jihadist (Holy Warrior). The liberals seem blinded, like lemmings running over the cliff, to the idea that we are at war. A war we did not start and which we failed to take seriously for years leading up to 9-11. We cannot be in a position of lawyering up terrorists and providing them the  full protections of our Constitution when they are waging an illegal war against our innocent civilians.
Terrorists want us to protect them with our laws and our courts verses using our military. It is how they are able to attack us without risk, by sending in brain washed robots like we see in these latest attacks on our homeland. They know no court can reach them in another nation. And even when they get here, they rely on dupes to ignore their war on us and give them freedom to attack and kill at their whim. It is a critical element of their war strategy – that we will be too dumb to protect ourselves outright.
The liberal idea that we sacrifice our people to show our superior morality is as dumb as it comes. I am not going to sacrifice my children or family to make some liberal look godlike. I prefer the George S. Patton school of thinking here: let the other dumb bastard die for their cause, we will win and survive.
If there ever was a straw that broke the mirage of Hope & Change it was the specter of the Christmas Day Massacre of 2009. If the Obama administration does start firing the fools in positions of responsibility now, We The People will fire all of them ourselves. And we do not need to wait until 2012 to do so. Failure to protect the rights of Americans by falling down on the job against terrorism is a serious crime. If the Democrats hope to save their party from certain extinction, they will start making the adjustments immediately, without prodding or protest.
If the Democrats wait until 2010 to get serious, after the American people have applied the voting booth’s 2×4 across their collective foreheads, there will be no turning back. Word is we have a wave of new attacks coming at us. If this administration and congress fail to stop any of these, even one, they will be rightfully held responsible for negligent homicide. For a party and leadership big on using the courts in these matters, they will have no avenue to complain if they are, indeed, unable to protect this nation after all these glaring warning signs.
This incompetence ends now – one way or the other.
