Violent “Peace” Protesters – Not An Oxymoron Anymore
Has much of the world dropped half its IQ points or something? The only lesson one should take from the boarding of that ‘flotilla of aid’ by the Israelis is it may be easier to just blow these kinds of stunts out of the water from afar to enforce the law than trying to board a hornets’ nest and try not to kill the entire lot.
As videos of the scene have shown, the ‘peace protestors’ were violent and dangerous. When the IDF troops boarded they were immediately attacked. The people aboard that boat are lucky the IDF was so restrained in their response. I am not so sure I would have been.
Any fool who wants to blame this on Israel is going to lose all credibility. This is no different than being pulled over on the highway, and then attacking the policeman. Get a grip folks. And don’t encourage more violence and bloodshed by pretending this was some heroic act. It was just another ship of fools.

Unfortunately, every fool who want to blame this on Israel will have credibility simply because it is about Israel. There is no need for accuracy, logical support of any claims, nor restraint. We already have rioting in some streets and the start of a second flotilla.
This is a direct result of Obama and his inexperience and fear of international policy. He expected he would be lied and respected just because of who he is and is totally unprepared for the real world. He has abandoned Eastern Europe, but gotten nothing out of the Russians. He has gotten nothing from the Chinese while North Korea attacks South Korea. His tilting away from Israel and toward Hamas and the Palestinians has brought on the flotilla and Turkey moving away from the weak horse.
As Reagan said, none of the wars in his lifetime occurred because the US was too strong. By weakness, Obama now has the threat of nuclear war on the Korean peninsula and in the Middle East.
Obama could stop the next flotilla by announcing the US will stop it rather than leave it to the Israelis. But, he will not do that. Someone might not like him. Even if no one respects him in the morning, he can pretend they like him.
It is a sad state of affairs when Obama can make Carter look decisive, action oriented, and visionary.
It would behoove us all to recommend Lee Smith’s book about the Strong Horse.
Israel can start any war. The question is whether Israel will continue to replenish its war ammunition as Obama probably will refuse to sell anything to Israel. If that is the case, that might force the Jews around the world to see the real Obama for who he is…anti-semetic. I don’t see Obama standing by Israel and I don’t think he will.
The international reaction to this incident is against Israel and Israel know it.
Smart Power or Smart Diplomacy…we’ve seen them fail in the past and the only way to win this war is strength in our military might, both visual AND perception. These liberals will never learn.
RickC is correct. Anybody who criticizes Israel automatically has credibility from the left. It matters not if they are accurate in their criticism so long as their venom is directed toward Israel.
What people need to keep in mind is that Israel was not blocking the supplies. Israel simply put a process in place for getting the supplies to Gaza by which the “protesters” did not wish to abide.
The ships could have delivered the cargo to the designated port where the shipment would be inspected and then trucked to Gaza for them. Israel was NOT blocking the shipment of humanitarian aid.
These people intentionally precipitated a conflict for propaganda purposes and the US media is snapping to.
Useful idiots, I suppose.
Wait until Turkey uses it’s own warships to “protect” the next flotilla to Gaza. PM Erdogan is already threatening that they will do just that.
If Israel responds militarily against these warships, will the US honor it’s obligation to fellow NATO member Turkey and declare war on Israel? Or will Obama choose Israel and allow NATO to collapse?
We could be at this decision point before summer is out.
WWS:
Time will tell, but I doubt that Turkey will actually do that. I think a lot of this is posturing and demagoguery. And yes, they can get some credibility with the left and militant Islam, but my guess is much of the world is tired of this act.
Year after year it is the same crap, the only thing that chances is now and then a different actor steps on the stage.
Israel needs a strong, unequivocal, supportive response from America, without it, who knows who will miscalculate first. Sometimes it seems that Obama is as dumb as a rock. Does he know how the games are played……it surely doesn’t appear so.
From an Israeli friend: quote: “Wait… Soon U will hear who was on those ships…. Some are al qaeda; IHH and other terrorists wanted by the US, UK and Israel…
Give it 48 hours…”
– Illan
My question about these activist is rather more arcane. I read that there were 675 people on board the ship. That type of ship does not require a crew of more than 15 or 20. They were not sailing a big galleon that requires sailors to reef and furl. Why did they need almost 700 people on the ship?
Kathie:
True, that is why a lot of this happening now.
Richbee – Israel has caved. They are letting all the terrorists go free, back to Turkey as we speak.
Fai Mao – because it was never about the supplies, it was always about the politics. And for a purely political act, the bigger the crowd the better. More cameras.
This “Peace Flotilla†was about International Islamists and Leftists trying to smuggle weapons of mass destruction into Gaza to be fired into Israel.
That was what Iran’s nuclear program in Syria was about — before Israel flattened it with an air strike — Plausable deniability for Islamist Persia.
