75% Of Americans Reject Liberal/Progressive Economic Policies

Can government save or fix the economy? Or do the busy-bodies in DC do more harm than good?

Folks, that is the primary question for this year’s election, and of the decade to come. Democrats have been on a mad, far-left spending spree for two years now, one which is threatening to bankrupt generations to come. This nonsense was fed by their fantasies about being the knights on white horses, trotting to the rescue of the masses (and no doubt to cheers of adulation in their Walter Mitty moments). But in the real world, the Dems have failed because their ideology is just plain wrong and a failure..

Moreover, 75% of the people of this nation know it:

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 75% of Likely Voters prefer free markets over a government managed economy. Just 14% think a government managed economy is better while 11% are not sure.

If this election is about economic choice (free market vs government intervention) – the Dems lose. If this elections is a referendum on the President’s performance on the economy – the Dems lose. If this election is about support for Congress – the Dems lose. When 90% of the country disapproves of the current Democrat Congress and 75% of the people disagree with the fundamental approach of the Democrat party, what do sane people think is going to happen in November?

Well that lets everyone in the MSM out of the equation.

My bet is that most people want a safety net for those who are struggling, regardless of the reason. We want people to beable to feed themselves and go to the doctor when necessary. We have a public school system for all people to attend and an extensive scholarship system for university attendance. We have a housing program in every community to house those who can’t afford housing of their choice. We have charities, and givers and a tax on those who work to help those who need help. My next hunch is, that if we encourage, not punish the earners those who need will get what they need gladly and plentifully.

Obama is under the impression that earners need punishing because those who don’t earn are complaining that they are not taken care of well enough. It is the bad people at the top who are causing the pain of those at the bottom. So he is going to fix it. So I ask, Mr. Obama how is it working for you? Does punishing the workers create more jobs, is the economy trickling up, is the unemployment rate falling? Obama says Bush created only a million jobs, I’m not sure that is correct, but I do know the unemployment rate was 4.5 to 5.7 percent, not bad for a non-job-creator. Before the crash, which happened on the Bush watch, our debt was in the 300 billions. Yes the crash happened on Bush’s watch but it was in the making for many years. It had nothing to do with the tax code. Just a few thoughts. Also I hate socialized medicine……I will vote for anybody who will scrap the Obama plan.

I live in a state where that 14% is an actual majority. We’ve been living under central planning since the passage of SB 100. 37 years. We do this in order to protect the environment. And, daily, more environmentalists move to Oregon.

I don’t think this is going to turn out very well.

If all the economists were laid end to end, they’d never reach a conclusion.

Gosh, you know what this means? 75% of Americans are RAAAACIST! Must be because of that evil Faux News…..

  7. crosspatch says:

And, daily, more environmentalists move to Oregon.

Great. That means they must be moving FROM someplace else. Wonder where they are coming from. That might be a great place to move TO.

    Nope! I suspect Californica!
    Its what liberals do.
They infest an area like cockroaches and with their fooloish Ivy League educations institute their theories.
Once they have destroyed the place they reside in they move on to a place not yet fouled with their cacamamie ideas!

Even a dog has the sense not to soil his nest!

Not so with liberals. They sit in their soiled mess until the stench gets too bad and then move on not ever considering that wherever they go, there they are.
Never understanding they are the problem.
That is why in order to save any of the Republic the States must assert States rights and pass and enforce their own laws against the liberal insanity.

That is why Pinnochio and Holder cannot let Arizona Immigration Law stand it opens the door and sets a precedent for States rejecting the Feds mandates.
Either States Rights prevail or we all become Detroit or San Francisco.

Not a peep in the Democrat media so far.

Oregonguy – heh, I had a longer post written and deleted it – can’t risk people googling my nick. Let’s just say that even the most loyal Oregon liberals are getting disgusted with Obama these days. They won’t ever vote Republican, but they are just about mad enough to either vote for the greens or not vote at all. Which is fine by me!

  13. crosspatch says:

WWS, I don’t know. Here in the SF Bay area I am hearing things like “for the first time in my life, I am going to vote a straight Republican ticket”.
