Can We Get A Refund If The Climate Doesn’t Change?

Published by at 7:35 am under All General Discussions,Global Warming

The citizens of Canada should be asking their government if, in the event that their unscientific plan to stop global warming does not work, they can get all their money back that the government plans to suck from their hides:

The Green party wants Canadian drivers to pay an extra 12 cents a litre at the gas pumps as the price of averting environmental “catastrophe.”

Leader Elizabeth May is boasting that her party is the only one politically brave enough to call for carbon taxes that would discourage automobile use and finance other tax cuts that would allow consumers to make smarter environmental choices.

You don’t need to be brave to be stupid. Being bold is never a problem with people obsessed with fantasies. The fact is we don’t know what portion of the warming is man-made. So until we do know that, we will not know whether we can do anything about the warming by adjusting our behavoir. If we are 60%+ of the problem then there is a chance – a small one. If we are 5% of the problem there is nothing we can do. Not so ironically CO2 only makes up 3% of the Green House gas system on Earth. So from the start it is clear we have no chance of doing much about warming based on C02 levels.

But even if we – as humankind did have a chance, the amount of pollution we in North America produce is pretty steady. We are modernized and doing a lot of things to keep our part of the world clean and green. It is the populations in China and India which present the largest threat to Earth. They outnumber us 4-1 or more, and they are not modernized and use highly polluting technologies. So that 12 cents people want to take out of your hides at the pump in Canada is not going to do a thing against the army of polluters in India and China doing their thing. This is the complete idiocy of thought that is underpinning the global warming political movement. Useless flailing around a problem they cannot get their minds around.

This “plan” has nothing to do with the government of Canada. It is proposed by the Green Party who lack representation in Parliament, and aren’t liable to get any representatives in the foreseeable future, much less draw enough numbers to have a chance of implementing said plan.

Oh I get it – it was just an excuse to put forward Canned Rant Against Global Warming #7. Sorry – carry on…

  5. […] Someone, it would seem, has linked to a proposal by the Green Party of Canada to implement a further tax of $C 0.12 cent per liter on gasoline to help combat greenhouse gas emissions. I’d like to take this opportunity to point out to said moron that someone that the Green Party is not the governing party in Canada, nor is there a snowball’s chance in hell of that ever happening. […] Last year I noted Canada was about to embark on an economy crippling effort to reduce CO2 levels.  I pointed out there was no use in doing anything if all the costs and efforts would be wiped out by China: The citizens of Canada should be asking their government if, in the event thattheir unscientific plan to stop global warming does not work, they can get all their money back that the government plans to suck from their hides: […]
