How Many Muslims Has al-Qaeda Killed In Iraq? WHO Decides

Published by at 8:16 am under All General Discussions,Iraq

It seems very hard to determine how many Muslims have been killed in Iraq due to al-Qaeda’s efforts to insight civil war (it wasn’t the US who bombed the Golden Mosque and ignited the fighting, it wasn’t the US who used chlorine bombs on Sunnis who were changing their minds about al-Qaeda’s brutality). The World Health Organization has decided to try their hand at estimating Bin Laden’s Carnage in Iraq. They have come up with the number 150,000. Which is above the 48,000 one group is estimating, but a fraction of the 600,000 ‘estimated’ by a left wing group. The only thing missing is who they claim is the murderer of all these Muslims. The US doesn’t blow up mosques or markets, and we don’t populate mass graves (something al-Qaeda and Saddam had in common). Some how they just cannot get to the final point of all this – who is to blame for the carnage??

Probably a reasonable number. Of course the left will say “it’s all the US’ fault!” ignoring the fact that this is about the same as the 50,000 per year that Saddam was getting rid of.

Something big is going on in Iraq today – this Operation Phantom Phoenix is bigger than we realized. The B-1 bombers came out today, and I don’t think they’ve been used since the assault on Fallujah. The sad part is that 9 US personell have now been killed in the last two days – but that will be misinterpreted by those who aren’t paying attention. The deaths resulted because our troops are making an all-out assault on identified AQ positions in Diyala and elsewhere. It’s hard to say this without sounding cold, but so many people have no realistic idea of military operations these days – casualties are always a necessary component of any serious assault. A lot of people seem to think that somehow results can be had without paying that price. They can’t.

Wow, we hit 40 targets in a 10 minute period yesterday. 20 tons of bombs in 10 minutes. Shock and awe, baby!

Excellent response by our side. The latest US casualties apparently occurred in booby trapped houses—–leveling the place should make it easier to root out the vermin and send a message that abetting these bastards will result in a large claim with All State being filed, should you be so fortunate as to have not been home when we came a callin’.

I don’t think we can know how many people have died, and who decides what deaths you count. All of them? Deaths due only to violence?

I remember back in the 90’s when critics of the sanction regime were saying it killed 100,000 a year. We know that after the Congress and the UN refused to give the go ahead to the Coalition forces to take out Saddam back in 91, Saddam killed hundreds of thousands of Shia.

If the US had just walked away and left Saddam to his own devices there is no way of knowing how many would have died.

If the critics of the war had not encouraged mayhem and murder to enhance their own political power, I wonder if things might have been different.
